Is this still the buggy version of Froyo, or have the bugs been fixed?

This is still a leaked version with some bugs. For a list, see post 3. As someone who's lived through every Froyo release, for every phone, I can tell you this leak has less issues than any official release I've seen for other phones. It also has a lot more features included. This makes it a lot easier for me to forgive Samsung for taking so long.

ok. Rooted the phone a long time ago with instructions from here. Did odin per post #4, then picked back up with step 2. DL09 shows in phone info. Going back to step one, but any help/direction in the mean time is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

yeah you did things fine, you are just pressing the wrong buttons in recovery

I appreciate the help...but I'm just not getting what you are trying to say.

when you boot into recovery , go to apply sdcard:update.zip, and press the home button at the bottom of your phone

if you press the menu button, you get the android with the exclamation point at the top, everything is fine, just press the menu button again

pressing the home button (the house) gets me the !. menu button brings up yellow writing "install from sd card..."
Followed by orange/red E: failed to verify whole file signature...installation aborted"

oh ok,,,, in your downloads folder or wherever you are saving your downloads, delete any old update.zip files, redownload update.zip from post #1 ..... on your sd card delete any old update.zip files on it, then put the freshly downloaded one on the sd card, make sure its not in any folders,,,if this does not work you need to reflash cwm froyo with odin

went back to the beginning...deleted, reloaded, etc... now waiting. Clicked on install from sd card and have a black screen with the bottom buttons lit up. Going on 5 minutes now. Is this a long process?

what color was the recovery, blue, green , or red? when you pressed that button

it should take less then 2 seconds

red. seems voodoo is there. I don't recall installing that, but anyway, I have to figure out how to remove voodoo and then I will try again. Thanks dXc for your help. I need to run to the school. Be back later to hopefully complete this.

if you were in red then you were fine, that is clockwork recovery.

in red clockwork recovery the home button puts the screen to sleep

red recovery keys
back or power button = select
search button= back
home button = back/sleep

I haven't seen the answer to this question but my upgrade to Froyo went smooth like butter. Started out with DJ05, did a factory wipe, then did the Froyo update.

My question is, my baseband is still DJ05...should I do anything else to update it to DJ09 or should I be cool? Everything works really well otherwise.

should work fine, i was running that radio fine for a couple days,,, if its not broke dont fix it

Can anyone else get the flash to work? I've been trying to find out the issue.
The install went fine and im fully running 2.2. However when I go online a lot of sites show empty spaces where video and animations should be. Anyone been able to get it to fully work?

Open up settings in the Browser app and enable plugins.

Upgraded to Froyo this past Friday. Used ODID went to stock DL09 and followed the steps one by one. WHile at it I tried both the Superclean v1.0 and RubikS 0.3 roms. I decided on the Superclean rom with Launcher pro. The only thing I don't like is the aosp SMS in Superclean. I added TW SMS but as reported it is buggy. Going to use Handcent until TW SMS gets fixed. Who knows, I may get to like Handcent and stay with it.

Overall phone is much quicker with much less lag or lockups. Flash works but a tad slow. Definitely worth the upgrade and it will only get better with time.

I am new here but I would like to thank everyone that works hard to make things like this happen.

I have to agree Cory. Dl30 is very smooth and bloat free. That is why the search button does not work with with this release. Our leak got out without Bing and that button links to bing. At least we can choose to bing or not to bing with the next version.

What are you referring to? My search button works great! Links to google and evrything.
