Thanks to Cory and everybody else at AC!

I loaded 2.2 yesterday according to updated instructions. Was at version DL09, not rooted. All went smoothly. Easy to follow directions. Didn't clear cache and it still went well. I finally have the snappiness the Fascinate should have had from the beginning. Lag is gone. No other issues so far.
Did DL30 change the file partitions from RFS to EXT4 (as Voodoo did) or will Voodoo bring any further improvements to DL30?
This update to 2.2.1 also brought me voice dialing over my bluetooth earpiece, just like I used to have with my BB. Haven't found any negatives yet!

Unfortuneatley when I enable the plug-ins, the space that was empty displays a blue box with a question mark. Ive been at it all day but with no success.
But the 2.2 leak is still Awesome! Thank you!

Sorry, I was referring to the quick voice search. You know when you hold the button down.

I found and compared the keypad files from DL30 on one of my Fascinates and DJ09 on another. There a some slight differences but I'm not sure if they are related to the Voice search button or not. The person that might know is Adrynalyne. He's fixed a lit of stuff, so maybe he has some ideas for this one too.

Make sure you have the newest version of Flash Player, it should be 10.1. It's in the market.

He certainly can. He made my Omnia worth a crap two years ago. Adryn was studying for like 2 degrees in engineering, I am sure he will figure out a fix.

Cory, you're amazing!
I followed all the steps, and voila...its alive!
I'm very very happy with Froyo...similar to my joy when the big cheese won on sunday.
I only wish all phone upgrading solutions were laid out so perfectly as yours were. Keep up the great work!
PS: Getting the iPhone 4 today...is my Fascinate on the line here you think?

Thanks for that feedback, and I'm really glad it was smooth and simple for you.

Regarding iPhone vs. Fascinate. They are 2 very different phones, and you will not find positive feedback in an Android enthusiasts centric forum. We now have a phone wars forum comparing iPhone and Android phones in general. They are all relevant. I think there might be thread in this forum as well.

EDIT- Yes I have Java enabled

It's actually plug-ins you need to enable.

I need a big favor from everyone. If you've found a new feature, please review post #2, and verify that I've listed it. Please quote this post when you respond. Thanks!

Contacts Photo in Text Message

Anybody having an issue with the Text Messaging application not showing the contact's photo? My contacts have photos in my contact list but they are not showing up when I receive or send a text to them...

I went through the steps, and got to step 19. I then saw the android guy with an exclamation mark, I can also no longer connect my phone to my computer. This is with Windows XP. Should I try a different computer? Is the SD card the whole drive when I initially hook my phone to the computer (F: for me).

if you are seeing that, it means you are pressing the wrong button, when you go to apply sdcard:update.zip you need to press the home button, if you are pressing the menu button you will get the exclamation thing...when you get to red recovery, only use, back button=select and search button=back....dont ask why lol....

to get your computer to recognize your phone, put the phone in debugging mode, plug it in, while its plugged in restart the phone. when it turns back on try to mount it, if it doesnt mount , unplug then plug it in again and try to mount,,if it still doesnt work ,, go here Samsung select software , try different drivers with the process i just stated above

I have a few very noob questions. I'm the instructions it says to download the file and put in on my SD card.....how do I do that? I know...sorry it sounds really stupid. I'm guessing that I have to plug my phone into my computer.

next question, I'm trying to download the update file to my pc.....when I click it, it takes me to a website, but there are 4 places to click download...how do I know which one? whitesmoke or somthing like that?

so confused.

thanks in advance

Just installed froyo, works perfectly

I just finished installing and after the force quit issue was fixed I found that it works just as good if not better than before. The instructions were easy and simple to follow. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!
