Post #1 updated with the correct Samsung Driver Link.

Cory,

I found the solution to the "unable to load message, message too long" error. I was getting this with my Yahoo and two school email addresses. I spotted this in another thread here on AC and it solved my issue immediately. Hope this helps everyone.

Btw, once you click manage apps, go to the "all" tab to find the email app listed.

I was also having issues reading my email. To get it to work all I did was go into settings/applications/manage apps/and find the email app and clear data and clear cache and re set up my email (hotmail) and I can read the emails now. I did not have to reinstall dl30.

It's amazing how much good clearing app data and cache actually does. I swear, it solves at least 50% of all problems.

OK, I went to Froyo CWM. So it shows CWM 2.5.1 version now. I hope this is the latest and greatest.

I can't get past the blue menu. I'm stuck with a triangle with an ! inside and a little one armed android....

You are hitting only down on the Volume. To get to CWM you have to hit both up and down on the Volume.

I'm running froyo, and I believe I have everything set up right, so I'd like to create a backup, but I can't into clockwork anymore. It says can't find /dev... Folder doesn't exist, and under that says error e: can't locate sd.update.zip. Don't get it. Help, please.

Phone just installed EA28. Does this prevent me from installing Froyo?

I was having some issues and was a bit confused with all the Froyo methods (red, green) so I did the OTA to EA28. It fixed my issues but I still want Froyo. Can I do it as in post #1 or do I need to revert to DL09 first?

Thanks

nah, I found out that you have to put update.zip & DL30.zip in the root of the card and not within a folder. I moved them to the root of the card and tried again. I was getting into CWM, but when I selected install it couldn't locate the files since they were within a subfolder.

I too have no clue what red and green refer to. Christmas is over. However all of that not withstanding, I had already installed OTA EA28 and then followed the directions in post #1 and had no problems installing Froyo.

Okay everyone - I know a lot of you are totally confused by all these ClockworkMod versions and colors floating around out there. You're not alone.

I tried to do my best to consolidate and explain in post 5 of this thread. I also detailed steps you need to take if you want the new one.

Last but not least, I added a paragraph at the bottom of the first post that says "Advanced Users".

Just want to thank all (Cory, CK, Killa, gunner, etc) for great support, as always (and don't be offended if your name didn't flow off my bad memory).
Can't find the original Green CWM instructions post to thank Cory, but it worked flawlessly (Thanked post#2 instead). Issues I'm seeing: Voicemail button doesn't work, but well documented. Browser not de-binged, despite Google selected as default search (still Bing if switch default to Yahoo as well). Camera finally geotags, but no option to disable (if you wished to). Loving the Froyo goodness overall and haven't even touched apps2sd or flash yet. Do miss my long hold for Voice Search, though.
