Let's guess how long our JB official OTA will take!

it's more about the idea that the Gnex is supposed to get updates right away. It's the principle of the thing. I felt like I was dupped. Just a weird mental thing of mine. Mostly upset with myself about this.

I agree fully with this. I was under the impression that the vzw nexus was supported fully by google and would get prompt updates . I was banging my head against the wall after it took 3 months past the GSM versions to get the 4.0.2 update to fix some bugs and when google wallet was blocked by vzw. When will google release its own mobile network? Lol ;)

Slightly off topic... but am I the only one shocked by how many people would change carriers just to get a phone....
You guys must have more money then me...
I'll stay on Verizon cause I'm grandfathered in an awesome old alltel plan with 17% monthly discount that can't be matched by any carrier..

I think it is pretty clear that very few people will actually leave their carrier for a phone. I believe it is the exact reason that android so popular today.

I agree with that, but for those who truly want a certain item I have no doubt it'll happen. But that's very, very few IMO.

My transformer prime got the OTA last night.. looking forward to it on the nexus! Gonna be the end of August!

why does everyone blame verizon? Sprint doesn't have JB on their galaxy nexus..

maybe you guys know more about the status but I have heard of a JB build being released by google but nothing about one for the cdma/lte variant.. and After talking with Verizon tech support they claim they are waiting for the maufacturer to release an update.

(1) I know to a reasonable certainty that our OTA is testing.

(2) Verizon is the reason the testing is extensive, due to CDMA/LTE and such. They have every right to do that, because it's their property and it's their FCC compliance at stake.

(3) The Verizon v. Sprint thing is somewhat moot b/c the Verizon device is back to being an AOSP device while the Sprint device is left in the dark. There's not a chance in hell Sprint gets their update before us; they don't even have binaries for JB yet.

My Sprint Gnex just got sad.

You know, I'm running a slightly moddified stock Jelly Bean ROM and its fantastic. So far, I've had nothing but troubles with CM10 based ROMs. They flat out suck for daily drivers. The features are neat, but if your battery life isn't as good, and the phone isn't as stable, whats the point? If you google videos on Google Now on the GSM variant, it loads up super fast. I have yet to have a ROM on the verizon model load up in a useful amount of time. And Google searching is just awful, one of the first reasons to buy an Android phone.
