I emailed Verizon about Jelly Bean, knowing that they wouldn't give me the answer I wanted but just to see what they'd say. I mentioned that I got my Galaxy Nexus because I wanted updates first, etc etc. Here's their response...
"I know how hard it can be waiting for new software to come to your device. Especially if there are other phones out there with the software you are looking for. I am still waiting for Ice Cream Sandwich to come to my phone myself.
As far as a specific date of when Jelly Bean will be available for your device, I am sorry, but I do not have that information. When software is available for the device, you will be notified by your phone. Please know that we have no control over when the software becomes available for the devices. The software is written by the manufacturer (in this case Samsung) and Google.
I am very sorry that I am not able to provide you with the answer that you are looking for. If I had this information, I would surely give this to you. Thank you for being a valued Verizon Wireless customer. Have a great night."
So, like someone else said, it's just a circle of blame. Verizon says its Google, Google says its Verizon. Hopefully we get the update in the next few weeks!
