LG G3 and Cyanogenmod 12

Gave CM12 another try after hearing of the M9 camera port.

Over 24 hours in with the cm-12-20150414 build and must say batery life is great and the M9 camera seems to be pretty close to stock quality... No FC of any kind.

The only problem I have seen with this build is it says I have no service on the lock screen even though I can receive and make calls fine. I get around this issue by going in and out of airplane mode once every time I reboot.

I must say that if it stays this stable, i've found my new daily driver....

If you want to give the M9 camera a try, you can find it here. It's not an apk so you'll have to flash files via your custom recovery.

Best Regards,

These are just some random pictures i took using the M9 camera port (I'm not the best picture taker, but they're nice enough for my liking. I'm sure others do a much better job with pictures than me, buy these are just some quick pictures i had already taken.)

I use the Candy5 Sprint ROM on mine, and it works really well. I have had some issues with my LG G Watch disconnecting and being unable to reconnect (Bluetooth shows no devices found. I never had this issue before Candy5), and I'd love to see NFC working. Aside from that, I love the ROM.

Paul, I also love the G3. It is my first Android phone. Using Action Launcher 2 Pro and that's great as well. What were the improvements in CM12 that you think really made it worth it? I too am not much of a tinkerer but I have been curious to try some custom roms

CyanogenMod 12.1 on my LG G3 is so good. I love my G3 and so much about it but the thing I hated about my G2 and G3 was the lag in the OS. Once you take away the LG bloatware and just run pure android its lightening quick and the battery is substantially better.
I love the HTC blinkfeed, font and skin in general but I love LG hardware. So now I can skin my phone so it uses HTC everything inside with the sleek look of LG on the outside!!
Once I installed Cyanogenmod 12.1 ROM I lost root on my device but I don't really care too much coz I don't want to mess with the phone too much.. All I wanted was to get rid of LG bloatware and run a pure android rom. I can't install any cyanogenmod nightly updates without root but I have no complaints from the ROM I installed... Works 99.99999999% of the time and the other 0.1% you just give the phone a minute and it fixes itself.

i have a small question..
may be its a dumb question to you.. i have a rooted lg g3 D850.. i wanted to know. that if we flash cynogemod 12.1.. would than the updates will come via OTA or we will have to install the updates manually ??
i am asking this question because i am new to customization of android phones.. and my oneplus one receives all the updates from cynogen via OTA..

please help... thanks

I am new to all this but recently flashed to cm12.1 because of the same reasons. LG bloat. You can enable or disable root in developer options. I also installed cyandelta which as it's name suggests downloads only the delta files and installs them (needs root). Definitely recommend this.

Doesn't help with the camera question but i can live without 4k video.

I am a proud cm12 user have no issues on the operations only main thing is your phone should have the hardware to give support to cm12 to use it's full capabilities its under statement by most of the people think cm 12 its worth all the risk

On xda, there's a debloated stock Lollipop ROM. I flashed it yesterday. So far, so good.

I had to bail on CM12 several months ago - it was too buggy for me then. Good to hear things are more stable now. Gonna have to check it out.

I have tried about 10 different roms in the last week. The biggest issue for me was non lg roms don't have hd calling or wifi calling. The quality is far better with HD calling and I live in the edge of service so wifi is a must.
I recommend CyanideL. Super stable, very clean, tons of customization options. only issue I had is double tap to wake would stop working and a restart was the only way to fix it.
Right now I am on a factory ultra clean 5.0.1 and like it.
I have yet to find a rom that helps with battery. CM helps a little. Skydragon knocks it down to about 3 hours.
Just an FYI. Any lollipop rom will not run xposed, therefore no G3 tweaksbox.
