LG G3 Overheating warning?

Re: Does the LG G3 Overheat?

No, it isn't. I was saying that I got the overheating warning yesterday. I didn't try the GPS or anything else. It just locked up on me (like trying to touch a picture and nothing happening) so I removed the battery and then reinserted it and turned it back on and it was 100*F. Wouldn't let me turn up the brightness.

You said you don't use the OEM charger. That's probably the cause of your issue. Third party chargers, especially the junk sold on Ebay, can do damage to a battery and cause overheating issues.

Re: Does the LG G3 Overheat?

Mine gets hot a lot and real fast. The overheating warning has only appeared twice I think but even when watching youtube videos (after 2) you can feel it getting hot. And I have only played Plants vs Zombies 2 and Monument Valley and it burns. I thought it was normal but if nobody is experiencing the same I might try to use my warranty....

P

I think it's normal. I was trying to figure it out but it seems it's the normal temperature.

After a few days and with a case you won't notice it anymore.

Mine is sub 100F at idle. On FB it jumps to 105-110F and after a 5 minute 720p Youtube vid it was bouncing between 118-122F. I don't game so I have no input there. Screen is at 60%.

Mine too, maybe it's higher when I'm Fbin' more.

With 2d games it's around 120-125 and with 3d games it's around 130-140.

First time it happened since it's the first time I used GPS. It was really hot. I thought maybe because of the sun but I covered it and still hot until I turned it off. Also, while charged, I answered call, before I unplugged, it was hot. It cooled off after a while.

Re: Does the LG G3 Overheat?

I have had the phone for almost 4 full days now and I have been using it extensively, new toy :)

The phone has gotten a bit hot at times and I have seen it turn down the auto brightness to help prevent overheating, however I have never once seen it not allow me to use any other apps/features (including camera) due to any over heating issue, even when I saw it for the back light.

Ambient temps might be a factor why some are feeling the heat. Any device that gets real warm will be real hot with temps above 90F.

This is not normal. Unless you live in a sauna.

I got the warning just now, it was my bad though I place it in direct sunlight while watching YouTube for 30 minutes.
