AWESOME battery life with the whatever kernel comes with CM7 1.4
Overclocked at 1.8Ghz, unplugged it at 7am (and it's 3:45pm here now) AND STILL have 90% battery life. Booyaaa!!! No need for any other kernels out there. (Just to let u guys know) ;)

I am glad you are having a great time with your kernel.. But a few suggestion for some better kernels - Tiamats 1.04 kernel for better hearing volume and great battery life, its my favorite by far... also, Imosyon kernels are great too. just letting you know.. there are BETTER kernels than the stock one built into the ROM... :) but just so your happy thats all that matters... let me know if you need anything

ALSO, please be careful overclocking your phone.... seriously, even though you can, doesn't mean you should... I promise you won't see any noticable difference from about 1.2 overclock to 1.8. but 1.8 can almost certainly will eventually cause you problems, please heed this warning.. but you are free to do what you want... worst case scenario.. a freeze up so bad that you can even get into the settings to reduce your CPU or a bootloop... and it WILL gradually harm you phone... they were not meant to be overclocked to that high... keep in mind that alot of these kernels are used on tablets too, with tegra2 duo core processors that CAN handle the overclocking... Just please be careful.... honestly, I don't want to see you get into phone trouble

All this talk of overclocking and battery life makes me wonder.

I flashed the new Cm7 1.4 and I also flashed the tiamat kernel.

But my battery life is terrible. I usually can go from 8 am to 4-5 pm, but that would be a totally dead battery.

How is there so much variation in battery lives? Am i a heavier user than most people?

all depends on your syncing of certain apps and widgets.... I only manually sync or sync as far apart as possible... also, i underclock (there is NO difference unless you play heavy games, I promise) also, make sure you CPU settings are set to smartass

Maybe I am blind or just really tired. Did I miss the link for Tiamats 1.04 kernel. I tried earlier versions of CM7 but due to my profound hearing loss I found the volume way to low. I would love to give this kernel a shot.

Smartass setting - min 268 MHz - max 1344MHz

See for me I have all my email accts set up to instantly send me email notifications, becuause I am subscribed to alot of threads with instant email notifications, then I use tapatalk to get to u guys ASAP... I am only here to help ya know.. :) but my tweetcaster pro acct is set to only update when I open it, and my Google acct syncs everyday (calendars and what not) I also use an app called '2x battery" on the market... I get over 30 hrs on a charge with this app and widget... check it out, it really does help. also, for battery... wallpapers with ALOT of color or brightness (especially live wallpapers) will quickly eat battery. what ever you do... never use any type of task killer

Hey ssethv I see you are using the theme Meizu which I have tried but having 1 small issue and was wondering if you had the same. After appling the theme and rebooting the device I lose my Market version 3.0.27 and once I go back then it shows up. I'm assuming its being themed and for some reason maye the version it's causing an issue.

I wil respond to your pm later today been very busy with work :(

Re: [LINK][ROM] CM7 for Thunderbolt. RC1.4 Updated 7-29 11:20PM E

And thanks to ssethv for the tip on installing multiple .zips in one recovery session. I was able to load cm7, gapps, tiamat kernel & camcorder fix(which i found out doesn't work) all in one session and in that order. Saved a bunch of time.

I was already using the older market to begin with because even before I themed... the newer market wasn't showing all of my paid and non paid apps, since themeing. I have reinstalled the newer market apk and have had No issues at all...

my only problem during theming was trying to get the Dock Icon to not over lap and match up with my screenshot from my OP... it took sometime but i figured it out... I had to DL elegant adw theme from market and use the transparent Icons to hide the icons that I placed in position over the new dock... unfortunately his dock icons are unresponsive and that is the only work around... I spent quite some time with the Dev at xda getting this straighted out, it was an easy fix though. Hope this helps.. let me know if you need any more asst. I love this theme

Re: [LINK][ROM] CM7 for Thunderbolt. RC1.4 Updated 7-29 11:20PM E

Is anyone else seeing location issues with the weather apps on this ROM? I have to manually set my location in Weatherbug and in Fancy Widget Pro.
Any ideas?

Just had the same thing happen with my weatherbug after it being good for over a day. If I find a fix I'll let you know.

I know LTB had the same issue, but did fix it in the latest release v2.5 last weekend.

I keep wanting to try this ROM, but... I guess I'll wait for the next release since they still have this issue.

Re: [LINK][ROM] CM7 for Thunderbolt. RC1.4 Updated 7-29 11:20PM E

It seems like every few days this happens to me. To resolve I get a gps lock on maps or something, then do a refresh on my weather and it stays good for a few days.

It should get a fix just using the cell towers though, correct? I never had this issue before. I started getting severe weather warnings when all I could see were blue skies!

You are correct it should use cell towers, that's the way it's set in my settings. Not sure what the bug is, but I know for sure that what I said above does work. It could be the fact that I'm just refreshing my location, but I'm contributing it to gps because that's what I've always done before refreshing.
