[LINK][ROM]CM7 Thunderbolt.RC1.4 + 1.5.2 Updated 8/6/11

Re: [LINK][ROM] CM7 for Thunderbolt. RC1.4 Updated 7-29 11:20PM E

Is anyone else seeing location issues with the weather apps on this ROM? I have to manually set my location in Weatherbug and in Fancy Widget Pro.
Any ideas?

I unchecked this setting! Lets see if it fixes the issue. Thanks Nole!

Thanks! No offense to Falkville, AL, but I didn't really care what the weather is there despite my widget trying to keep me up to date.

It worked for me, so hopefully you'll have similar success. My weather widget went from telling me I was in a tiny village in Germany to pegging me in my small South Florida town.

I did have to give it one full syncing "cycle" to take effect though, so give it some time if it doesn't work right away.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for keeping CM7 related issues in this thread and NOT starting a new thread on the forums just for a question/problem relating to CM7 :) it keeps clutter down and we can help you all faster this way. ;)

Re: [LINK][ROM] CM7 for Thunderbolt. RC1.4 Updated 7-29 11:20PM E

Unchecking "allow mock locations" did not work for me, it seemed to make it worse. When I would go in and refresh my weather location it would stay in Piti, i have no idea where that even is. So this morning I checked allow mock locations and did a refresh, now I'm back to my current location. This isn't by any means a deal breaker for me, when it does read a crazy location I just refresh my weather and all is fine.

Sorry if it was asked already but what is the best kernel for this ROM?

Re: [LINK][ROM] CM7 for Thunderbolt. RC1.4 Updated 7-29 11:20PM E

In the OP there is a link to a kernel a lot of us use and like, tiamat.

IMO... Tiamat is the best because it fixes in-call volume (or at least increases it) and is good on battery and CPU speed setting are many to choose from :) Thats why I posted it in the OP... but there are many other AOSP kernels to choose from too...

thanks @ opjones ;)

Ok, ok... I'm going to download and try this out tonight... probably load Tiamat also... one question about Tiamat:
I don't see any MD5 Sum code... how do we know the file is good after we've downloaded it???

download cm7 rom .zip, and gapps .zip provided in OP.
You want to make a nandroid backup with rom manager or recovery, then in recovery wipe data, clear cache partition, and clear dalvik cache under advanced, and i would also format /system under mounts and storage.
next, while still in recovery, select install zip from sd card, select choose zip from sd card, and then find the cm7 zip you downloaded and select it - let it load, and when it's finished, select install another zip or whatever it says, then find the gapps .zip, and install that.
then you can reboot system now, allow several minutes for everything to load up the first time and settle in, and you should be straight.

for more info on how to flash roms and make backups, check out the [guide] stickied up top written by cyber warrior.

additionally - what radio are you currently using? if you are not using an MR2+ compatible radio, you will have to download and flash one. the radios taht work with the current version of cm7 are MR2 Official, MR2 leak, MR2.5 Leak, and Chingy's GB Leak. If you need to update your radio there are instructions in cyber warriors thread on how to do that as well.

Additional use mybackup pro to backup sms, mms, call log, bookmarks and any app data you will need. Loading a rom will fully wipe everything if done correctly.

Mine worked for a while after this fix and then defaulted back to some place in Virginia this afternoon. I had to turn GPS on and let it update itself to fix the issue.
Any other ideas on this anyone?

honestly I think it is a bug that we are just going to have to deal with till next update. :( I am continuously up to date on what's going on with cyanogen mod and as soon as I find out anything I will post it and let everybody know a fix for a workaround :-)
