[LINK][ROM] Liquid Thunderbread v2.6 (8/06/11)

Re: Liquid Thunderbread v2.2 (7/8/11)

I guess it is after I restore system and apps. How do I restore without restoring phone data? I looked in titanium and there wasn't an option to uncheck phone settings.

I don't use titanium anymore but I remember that there was an option to just restore apks and the data associated with those apks.

I use "mybackup for root" now.

iIt also could be a specific apk that for some odd reason.

Well I could never figure out what was going on, so I downloaded and installed 2.2. Works perfectly.

Whatever happened in 2.3 hopefully will be fixed in 2.4

On XDA they are saying the lockscreen had to do with the kernel. If you are willing to mess around with it, try an earlier rev of lean kernel, or give KangBang a shot. Apparently that has fixed it for 3 or 4 people over there.

I am not that comfortable trying to install a new kernel unfortunately. The 2.2 is working great for me, so I think I will stick with it for a while. Love this ROM, very fast and battery friendly.

Re: Liquid Thunderbread v2.2 (7/8/11)

I did like v2.2.... and fortunately I have only seen minor issues with v2.3, but I do really like this ROM... like you said fast and much better battery life than stock.

If I stay on 3g on this rom my battery lasts forever. On 4g I see an improvement, but still working on about 9 hours.

No matter what rom you use 4g is going to kill your battery.

Forgot to mention a few issues I have had happen to me.

Low sound when making calls

When using a headset and calling someone I have to take out the cord and plug it in again in order to hear anything.

Sometimes the auto backlight does not work properly. It will be to dark.

3G does help.... so does Wifi... and since I have Wifi at home and at work... I can live on Wifi an average of 16 to 20 hours a day.... but than again below is 11 hours on LTE with v2.2 I did on July 13th.

Re: Liquid Thunderbread v2.2 (7/8/11)

I'm having an issue restoring my apps using MyBackup. I keep getting an error that says it can't write to my sd card. I guess I'll go back to BAMF until I can get answer to this issue.

might need to run fix permissions and double check that my backup has super user privileges.

It wouldn't restore my most recent back up but it restored one that was a few days old so I'm up and running.

Re: Liquid Thunderbread v2.2 (7/8/11)

I started another Wifi test with the new v2.3 version with the same radio (1.39.00.0629r)... I'll take a screen shot when I'm done... but I'm almost 3 hours into it right now and 96% battery life left... looking like another good test.

****EDIT:
(Mostly emails, a couple apps, and updates weather every time it wakes)
5 hrs - 91%
7 hrs - 87% - including one short phone call
10 hrs - 80%

Ok... I started this about 5:15AM CST... ran it for 12 hours using Liquid Thunderbread v2.3 with the new official MR2 (1.39.00.0629r) Radio.

Normal use... some emails, a few apps, checked for updates in the Market, updates weather every time I wake my device... and one short phone call... two screen shots... 77% battery life after 12 hours on Wifi

My battery has been terrible. Yesterday I was overclocked at 1.4 and got maybe 5 hours normal use on LTE. Today I didn't overclock and got about 7 hours. So I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Re: Liquid Thunderbread v2.2 (7/8/11)

Personally, I don't overclock my device... and I've had good battery life from the last time I ran on an LTE battery test with v2.2. I've got very good LTE strength in my metro area. I might have to run another LTE battery test tomorrow. And all my tests have been what I'd call a normal day using it.

Re: Liquid Thunderbread v2.2 (7/8/11)

Starting another LTE battery test run today. Again, I know it's not a scientific test, and mileage will vary... it's just my personal test... I'll try to run it again for 12 hours so we have a good representation of a good chunk of the day... but after getting 77% battery life left after 12hrs on Wifi yesterday I'm fairly optimistic about the results today.

It's been only 1 hour since I started it and I currently have 95%... so it's already used a lot more battery this morning already... but I've read a few more emails this morning already... it might equal out, but we all know LTE is a much bigger battery drain than Wifi.

***Canceled Test.... too many new things out... Netflix... new Radio... It would not be a fair comparison with what I did yesterday.

Been running for two hours. Battery went from 98 to 68!
However, before I switched I was using Das Bamf sense 3.0 and it said the battery was 64.
Why the difference? I noticed that happened when switching to CM7 as well.
Is this a Sense vs. AOSP deal?
Other than battery (and google websites) I like this ROM a lot.

Not sure what your issue is... you were running for 2 hours and your battery went from 98% to 68%... that could happen if you are using your device heavily. Are you saying doing the same thing with Das BAMF 3.0 it did not loose that much battery???

To me the Sense takes much more of your battery life... I've used Das BAMF 3.0 rc3 and later rc4 before trying CM7 and now Liquid Thunderbread.

This is exactly what I have been seeing performance wise.
