[LINK][ROM] Liquid Thunderbread v2.6 (8/06/11)

Re: Liquid Thunderbread v2.2 (7/8/11)

Liquid Thunderbread v2.3 with the new official MR2 (1.39.00.0629r) Radio... of course this is my personal test.

Tuesday: Normal use... some emails, a few apps, checked for updates in the Market, updates weather every time I wake my device... and one short phone call... two screen shots... 77% battery life after 12 hours on Wifi

Thursday (TODAY): Normal use... some emails, a few apps, Market download of the new update to Angry Birds Rio, and later Google+... no phone calls or SMS messages... 70% batter life after 12 hours on LTE

By no means am I saying everyone will get this... I'm just tired of all the complaints about how bad their battery life is... so after testing this ROM and really being happy with it I ran a test with v2.2 right before v2.3 came out... so I thought I'd run a couple tests with v2.3.

Re: Liquid Thunderbread v2.2 (7/8/11)

after reading all the post here, i have decided to load this rom. i really hope i get the battery life that fatboy97 gets. i am currently running das bamf 3.0 and battery stinks, bad. barely get 6hrs out a normal use day. i do really like the look and features of that rom, but willing to give it up for better battery life. will update as time goes on with

Re: Liquid Thunderbread v2.2 (7/8/11)

loaded the rom no 3g or 4g signal just 1x and most important of all no sound on my videos.

Re: Liquid Thunderbread v2.2 (7/8/11)

yes i havae the same radio. problem is i do record videos with my daughter and all, if i cant fix it then i'll have to go back to bamf

loaded ROM, i have very low signal 1 bar only. when i know its better in my bedroom, 4G is showing. i cant get GPS for my weather apps to work. putting me in georgia and i live in florida.
i am running the "New Radio Leak...Gingerbread RUU THANKS CHINGY" with this GPS locked on in secs, signal was great with this to. i think i will try the radio in the link provided above.

I'm not sure why you quoting panitsos.

But as you can see by my screen shots I don't have a great data signal strength... but if I go into Settings > About phone > Status > and scroll down to Signal strength... I'm getting -74 dBm... which is very good... but I'm only showing 2 bars... it's normal for the two AOSP ROMs.

And as for the weather app... do a manual search for your location... leave it there for a day... then uncheck the box and let it find you... it's a work around they have talked about on XDA forums with some of these ROMs.

Re: Liquid Thunderbread v2.2 (7/8/11)

ya i think i'm gonna go back to bamf everything worked fine there. i went over to the xda thread to ask about video recording sound and i cant even post on there yet because i dont have permission yet? lol those people need to get real

Re: Liquid Thunderbread v2.2 (7/8/11)

Goodbye... I'm sorry you did not read more about this ROM... either here or on XDA.

Re: Liquid Thunderbread v2.2 (7/8/11)

i read all 39 pages of it lol but no answers for the video sound. maybe next time when they fix it. thank you anyway

because of him having signal issues to, not quiet the same but still low. i just checked i had 1 bar signal with -86 dBm.
i just flashed back to the radio that is in the link provide. 1.39.00.0627r just to see if that makes a difference.
as for the GPS as soon as i typed this, went back to my phone it locked on to my city
when i google maps it locks in to my location. but, when i was running bamf 3.0 with the new leaked radio gps was was quick and dead on to me and signal was better.
i will give this a try and a few tweaks to see. that i why i love the android system, all the options and able to change things as needed
edit:
change of radio does nothing at all. still no change on signal nor gps

I'm sorry again... I've never seen a fix for this... and I'm also hoping they will fix it on the next release. Beyond that and the minor issue with the weather apps not locking on I'm happy with this and those things are easy enough for me to live with.

My battery life is a big incentive for living with this ROM... with 14 hours on LTE I now have 60% battery life... I can live without recording a video... and my weather app (beautiful widgets) does find me now.

Re: Liquid Thunderbread v2.2 (7/8/11)

fatboy - Is that on a stock battery? Sick sick stuff either way.

I scanned and did a few searches but didn't see the answer.

Re: Liquid Thunderbread v2.2 (7/8/11)

played around a bit last night, found this theme form xda [THEME] [LiQuID Thunderbread] Caelum Stellar Edition.
[THEME] [LiQuID Thunderbread] Caelum Stellar Edition - xda-developers
this theme is sick!!!. anyways dont recall if its in these settings or the original LTB settings but i changed status bar and the signal bars are better, i know its the same db but visually to me it looks better. still not to sure about the weather gps locking in on the wrong city yet, but will play with this for a few days

Sorry, I guess I did not state this, but it is on a Stock Battery!!!

Just before I went to bed I took one more screen shot before I connected it to power... almost 16 hours, and as you can tell I had some Angry Bird time (Rio):

I use Beautiful Widgets weather (Accuweather)... under the setting I have Set Location > I unchecked Geolocation and searched for my city, selected it... left it on for a day (what others have recommended)... then back into the settings and selected Geolocation... a couple times I did switch on my GPS and it picked it up right away... after a couple day it was tracking me to different cities in the metro area.

I know they are aware of this with a few posts on XDA.

Re: Liquid Thunderbread v2.2 (7/8/11)

Just found the fix the video sound issue.... Try renaming or deleting the videorecord.ogg in system/media/audio/ui

I renamed mine and tested this... it worked for me. I found this on Rootzwiki.com Now I'm a registered user on this new ROM website... since Das BAMF and other ROMs are on there.

Hey.... I am wanting to try this ROM and since its as close to AOSP as you can get. did you have to use Titanium for you app restoreing.... usually google automatically brings ALL my apps with me and now it isn't?

ALSO.... I really don't like the new market, is there a way to get the old style market back?
and. do you think it would be OK to use adw ex instead... is there a way to remove Launcher pro alltogether?

I did not use Titanium when I switched to this ROM... and the last time I flashed a ROM was going from v2.2 to v2.3, so I didn't wipe anything. I did however download and I'm using MyBackup Root now... I have backed up my apps and data on some specific apps, but I have not used it to restore anything yet... it does look a lot easier to use than Titanium.
