[LINK][ROM] Liquid Thunderbread v2.6 (8/06/11)

Re: Liquid Thunderbread v2.2 (7/8/11)

Just found the fix the video sound issue.... Try renaming or deleting the videorecord.ogg in system/media/audio/ui

I renamed mine and tested this... it worked for me. I found this on Rootzwiki.com Now I'm a registered user on this new ROM website... since Das BAMF and other ROMs are on there.

how do you get to those settings? i went there thru my root explorer but it's not letting me delete it or rename it its telling me it's a read only file

Re: [LINK][ROM] Liquid Thunderbread v2.4 (7/22/11)

Looks like another version is coming out soon (via a post on xda by liquid). fixes the gps issue.

You have to click the "Mount R/W" button at the top of screen... then after you are done it's a good idea to click the "Mount R/O" button to set it back so you don't change something by accident.

I do hope so... I must say that I thought my GPS was working since GoogleMaps could find me... then I had to use Navigation yesterday and it could not find the GPS, even through I could bring up my current location on GoogleMaps... so I left and loaded a different ROM.

I would like to come back to LTB.

Re: [LINK][ROM] Liquid Thunderbread v2.4 (7/22/11)

I was amazed at how much battery 'cell standby' can chew up. I did some tests. Two nights ago I turned off wifi and data but could receive texts and calls and turned off the screen. 8 hrs later it was exactly the same percent level.
I realized I don't need that data connection on that much. I like to see text real time and of course calls but my three emails don't really need to be instantaneous. I also don't twitter or facebook or _____.
On the market I found battery 2x app and its helped a lot. When the screen is off, the data connection is closed. When turned on it connects and syncs. I also have it checking every 30 minutes if I have the screen off for that long.
However, I still would have to turn on the screen to check for texts if I missed the vibration or tone. I had turned off the led long ago because it was useless compared to the awesome combos I could do on my BB. I put them back on and now have that to know if texts are in.
So if my Tbolt is in my pocket or on my desk, etc. just sitting there its not chewing up my battery.
However, it still makes me wonder the differences in battery life out there. Some are getting ridiculous usage out of this Liquid Thunderbread build.

Re: [LINK][ROM] Liquid Thunderbread v2.4 (7/22/11)

Over the past two days with this ROM I'm starting to notice weak signal (on the 1.46.00.0704w_2 radio). I figured the signal strength indicator was acting funny, but I'm at work where stock it would display three bars, and I'm showing no bars and 3G going in and out. Settings show a signal of -90 dBm but I can't access data at all. Now that I think about it, it's been a little spotty on this ROM when I'm at work, but when I was stock or on BAMF I was getting medium signal with no issues connecting to data.

I'm more inclined to think that I buggered up a setting somewhere - this radio has been working fine for me in every other situation, and I don't want to flash the MR2 back on, but I might have to if this keeps up.

Re: [LINK][ROM] Liquid Thunderbread v2.4 (7/22/11)

Going to give LTB 2.4 a shot right now... i just tried chingys gingersense 1.2 beta 5 and not impressed... I am a sense-less guy... so giving this a go. if I cant get things right. I guess itll be back to BAMF they always seem do get things right... i just don't like sense... perhaps a stripped version?

what does everyone think of this rom?

I've been a big fan of it up until I started noticing signal issues though. Battery life seems noticeably better than when I was running a BAMF, and while I like Sense, this is a nice change of pace.

Let me know how your signal compares to your current ROM and what radio you're using it with, I'm interested to see if you notice any difference.

If v2.5 gets all the fixes they are talking about on RootzWiki I'll be back on this after v2.5 comes out... or at least check it out when v2.5 comes out... I'm patiently waiting.

I'm working with Gingeritis 3D 1.0 Beta VI right now... it's rocking fast for a Sense 2.1 ROM... and I have not found any issues with it... GPS and Navigation work... and I'm having great battery life... today's battery test with Wifi on, 4hrs 22min and have 92% battery life (stock battery) using Chingy's (1.46.00.0704w) radio.

Re: [LINK][ROM] Liquid Thunderbread v2.4 (7/22/11)

I would rock this ROM but it doesn't even have the Nav ICON built into it... whats up with that... did they forget to bring it from 2.3 to 2.4. other than that and the screen wake issues, its not to bad... all in all. I have had great results from CM7 1.3, really no issues at all

Re: [LINK][ROM] Liquid Thunderbread v2.4 (7/22/11)

well i might have to try plan b or c or is it DEFG?? battery life is going down. when i first did this ROM battery life was awesome, now i am back to normal not even 8hrs and plugging it in again. not much for me has changed like adding apps that would sync or anything like that. my main battery use is the android system. now i have been been overclocked at 1408 i turned that down today to 12??. maybe that will help?

Re: [LINK][ROM] Liquid Thunderbread v2.4 (7/22/11)

I think there is a correlation with usage going g quickly and "android system" as the top user. It seems to be less when its cell standby. Unlike stock sense though where display was always top for me.

For anyone who reads through this, just a quick update - I went ahead and switched back to the normal MR2 1.39.00.0508w radio, and it seems to hold the 3G connection much better. Signal strength is still around -90 dBm, but it doesn't go in and out of 3G/1x/no signal anymore, and my speedtest results are better, albeit not as fast as the BAMF ROM's. So, if you're having a similar issue, try going to the MR2 radio.

Still looking forward to 2.5 ...

Re: [LINK][ROM] Liquid Thunderbread v2.4 (7/22/11)

I'm on MR 2.5 and its been a lot better for me than 3.0. I will give 2.0 a shot tonight and see how it goes.

I have heard of and used MR2 and MR2.5, but what are you calling 3.0???

Re: [LINK][ROM] Liquid Thunderbread v2.4 (7/22/11)

Maybe a way of referring to Chingy's latest radio?

Could be... but everytime I have ever seen anyone talk about that on they always called it Chingy's, or Chingy's (1.46.00.0704w) radio... after using Chingy's radio I have not tried using any other radio.

Now if Liquid Thunderbread could finally release v2.5 sometime this weekend I'll be happy!!!

I'm pretty sure 'android system' jumps to the top when I've been on the phone a bit. Usually that doesn't happen.... :)
But the last couple of days I've had some longish ones and noticed 'android system' jumping back to the top. Can anyone verify this?
according to some posts on xda the update should be soon. a beta tester said his latest rev is running smoothly without bugs. so hopefully that means soon.
