Manually Apply 2.0.1 Update WORKING

This has been a known issue prior to the update. I too have this problem from time to time...the weather indicator seems to be very spotty. Sometimes it works, others it doesn't.

Hmmm, I had no issues with the weather update until now...hope it fixes itself in time, it is nice to know others are working though.

Dial *228 and hit send. It's how you program your phone to verizon's network. Option 2 I believe is to update the phones roaming capabilities.

i talked to a moto rep and he said after every upgrade u should do that. actually i live only 6 miles from a moto warehouse. i did not know that till today. lol

I do it whenever I fly not sure it it helps much but gives me something to do waiting for the Plane to unload.

haha i think all the *228 is mostly pointless. makes the owner feel powerful but honestly I've never seen any improvements, as it should happen automatically.

i had my phone activated at the verizon store, but i live out in the boonies. when i got home i had 1 to 2 bars. did the *228, and it gave me full bars. just a fyi. it works. now i have full bars in the boonies. same thing with my storm.

Right, i'm not saying it doesnt work, but saying that i believe it would have automatically happened if you didn't do it manually. So yea, it's use is to correct the problem of not knowing which cell tower to communicate in a more timely fashion.

All that said, I've yet to be in the boonies :) So maybe things are different wherever that may be

lol, cmon over. its nice and quiet in the boonies. lol, not really the boonies, but im used to north minneapolis. nasty. glad to be in the boonies. 12 miles outta town.
