Media files on my s10 corrupt with a zgachaaf virus

[Android Central Question]

Audio, video and pictures on my s10 have been corrupted. Initially it was just picture files randomly, got an sd card and it became worse, all media files are corrupt, I have had to remove every media file plus the so card, now I notice that on the podcast ,picture and video folders the same zgachaaf files still appear, deleting doesn't help, they find their way back and multiply.

Internal storage, sd card didn't help.

WhatsApp videos and images are safe, updated the Samsung gallery, updated the android software, no change.

Welcome to Android Central! I got a couple of hits about "zgachaaf" on Google with similar descriptions to your issue, but no good answer. I doubt it's a virus, since there were no results about malware with that name.

First, try wiping the cache partition: https://www.t-mobile.com/support/de...y-s10/wipe-cache-partition-samsung-galaxy-s10. If that doesn't help, then you may want to try a factory reset.

Go into safe mode then My files app and delete them , do they reappear?

Thanks, wiped cache repeatedly, have a factory reset as last option.
