So I know there was one post already related to this but no solution in that thread has worked, nor has any solution posted on various websites.

I wish I could just disable LG IMS as the frame work contributes to features of my phone I simply don't use, however I cannot find the place to do so nor the IP type most websites tell me to. Like I said I have a Stylo 4 so that may be the issue.

I also doubt it has to do with any particular app as a factory reset did not fix it.

I am at my wits end so either a detailed guide for disabling it or any other fixes would be greatly appreciated.

Where do i find the place to update of fix IMS ?

The message on my LG stylo 4 is
LG IMS has stopped.
I've looked for apps/settings.. And its just not there.
Any suggestions would be helpful

Has anyone called T-mobile for help yet? Hoping I don't have to lol.

LG just issued a statement to T-Mobile and the Assurant techs:

LG Device App Error message

Removed direct customers to perform factory reset, as LG has identified this does not resolve the issue.

LG devices are contacting T-Mobile about an error message being received via the LG App "LG IMS keeps stopping" or "Unfortunately LG IMS has stopped"

LG is aware of the issue and is actively working on a resolution. Direct customers who have additional questions are to contact LG later tonight for an update at 833-378-0003 hours of operation are Sunday through Saturday 8am EST to 9pm EST.

T-Mobile tech support and Assurant Techs are unable to resolve this issue, since it is an LG problem.

Welp, I was wrong about a lot today. We got my daughter's phone fixed & went out to eat. Came home & it was my turn for the annoying error. But, thanks to all the advice above, especially mustang7757, greg williams9, alch3m1stz & all those who reported on what didn't work, I quickly was able to get rid of the error.

What worked for me:
  • tried & failed to turn on wifi calling (which was mysteriously off),
    deleted data from com.lge.ims.rcsprovider,
    deleted cache from Lg Ims,
went back to wifi calling, turned it on successfully,
switched to Cellular preferred (which had mysteriously changed itself to wifi preferred),
    deleted data from com.lge.ims.rcsprovider
- error has been gone for at least half an hour.

Re: Where do i find the place to update of fix IMS ?

With some of the advice I saw further up the thread I was able to find the IP and VoLTE On/Off settings that a lot of site recommended changing. Sadly this hasn't done anything for me, and from the looks of it, it is just a matter of waiting for LG to fix it.

The V30 I have has a setting called IMS Setting. This brings up a menu with VoLTE (ON/OFF) at the top. The fourth item of that menu is called IP Version. We may not have the same hidden menu. Yes. Can confirm message did not return so far and have been connected to network and WiFi for good measure for +20mins.

[UPDATE] When I tap on whatever text is on that IMS Setting page (like I said, it shows: Slot - 0 : TMo / US), then it brings up the page where I can see the IP Version option. At first I changed it to IPV4V6 like you said but it didn't work. So I changed it to IPV6 only (thinking that IPV4 is the old protocol and it may be the issue) and it works. BIG THANK YOU TO YOU.

Is it weird for the hidden menu - IMS Settings to only have a blank page with "Slot - 0 : TMO / US"? There's no ability to change IP Address there.

It's the same on my phone (Stylo 4). At first I was also confused. But then I just tap on that text and another page just opened up and where you can see the option to change the IP Version. I changed mine to IPV6 only because when I changed it ti IPV4V6, it didn't work for me.
