Unknown app "10252"

I was recently looking at my data usage in the settings menu and noticed an app I have never seen before. Does anyone know what the one that says "10252" is? I have no app by that specific name and there is no way to go to the app settings by clicking on it from the usage menu.

I looked through all my apps in the app manager and it is not listed in any slide eg. Running, downloaded or All. If anyone knows what this is I would appreciate it.

The only data it uses is background data, which I have subsequently turned off.

Thanks in advance.

I have some unknown thing draining my battery. I've googled as much as I can and am not able to find any information about what this is or how to get rid of it.

Welcome to the forums. Have you recently uninstalled any app? Usually those 10xxx processes refer to apps that were removed after your last full charge and they should disappear on your next battery cycle. Fully charge your phone and see if it is still there. Tell us how it goes.

Mystery app 10314 using lots of battery

I thought about posting in the Samsung GS7 section instead, but hopefully this is a better place to start. I am fastidious about my battery levels and consumption. In the last week or two a mystery application with no name started showing up and using more and more battery on my phone. It is listed in the battery consumption view as "10314". Today it used at least 30% of my battery this morning before finally shutting down and hasn't reactivated since. This put it on the top of my consumption list, even higher than my display usage. Now I'm growing concerned about what it is and what it does. The app is not in my Application Manager list and doesn't show up on built in or third party task manager lists. A web search for an app (built in or otherwise) with that name or ID was unhelpful. I'm probably going to give up and do a factory reset, but in the mean time has anyone heard of or experienced this problem?

Re: Mystery app 10314 using lots of battery

Welcome to Android Central! Moved from the Android Apps forum to the General Help forum because the former is intended for developers to promote their apps.

Apps that show up as "10xxx" in the battery stats usually represent some app that you recently uninstalled. Charge up fully to 100%, then use the device normally, and see if it shows up again.

S7 Drain power fast due to 10231

My Galaxy S7 started unusual power usage and drain so fast. When checking on battery usage, it listed an app I have never seen before, with just the name 10231, and same icon as the Android OS, using a whole lot of power (below screen but more than Android OS.) The force stop and disable buttons have no effect. I have searched online for any information about this "10231" but cant find nothing. Help!!!

Re: S7 Drain power fast due to 10231

Bear in mind, that battery usage stat's are relative. If the app shows to be using 50% for instance, that actually meant half of the total battery usage for that period. So if you used say 4% of your battery, this app in fact only used 2%! That is a clear and important distinction!
Actual battery drain can be a whole host of causes, screen on time being a battery gobbler! In poor signal areas the phone ramps up the output, if you constantly clear cache the phone has to reboot apps from scratch... There are just too many variables.
There are a myriad things you can do to conserve battery unless of course you are dealing with some rogue app misbehaving..
Have a read here... http://forums.androidcentral.com/ask-question/681229-battery-drain.html

Welcome to Android Central. Its not a virus or malware, likely a text message or internal code. I would not be concerned.

I wouldn't be in a rush to remove stuff if you don't know what it is lest you delete some program file and render the device useless....

Welcome to the forums. Those 10xxx processes usually refer to apps that were removed recently and still show up on your battery/data cycle. Have you uninstalled any app?

Android Central Question

what is this

It lists under the data usage section in settings
10110 ....................Restricted.
I'm using a friend's phone and I've had hidden tracking apps before from a jelous ex but haven't found anything weird so far but I did look at the recovery logs and it repeated root and the apps I downloaded say not rooted.
Thank-you in advance!
Justin Case.
