need help installing roms

I am having trouble installing any roms...here are my specs
Droid X
Rooted
Froyo 2.2.1
Verizon system: 2.3.340

I am using Rom Manager and have flashed backup with clockwork. The problem is that every rom I download or install it just reboots and then nothing happens...Am I doing something wrong?

Are you wiping the phone before you try to install the new ROM? That could mess things up if you don't. (make sure you make a backup of your current ROM first)

One other thing...I recommend getting Droid X Bootstrapper to install ROMs, if you don't have it already. I just use ROM manager to make backups. Then Bootstrapper to install stuff.

Ya have to use bootstrapper since the boot is locked down, Rom manager is a personal preference

I dont use rom manager but install my roms just with bootstrapper.

Yup bootstrapper is a must. No roms without it.

Rom Manager and Bootstrap are made from the same Dev. and where made to work together. Kinda like Batman and Robin.

I do everything in Bootstrap. One of the only times I've bricked was when I tried to install ZapX via Rom Manager.
