So can I open a new line on family plan, transfer upgrade to my line, then suspend new line (temporarily, which reduces monthly cost and makes number inactive) ?

i want to order it through Amazon also but have a quick question.
After I order the phone, can I apply my school discount for the monthly rate plans?
Also, how hard is it to apply the school discount? I just graduated a few days ago so I dont know if I will have any trouble applying the discount.
I can apply the discount now if I go buy the phone and start a new plan directly on Verizon's website. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Damn, I hate the UPS guys in my new area. They fricking really mean by the end of the day when they say by the end of the day for residential area. My razr was delivered at 7:30 at night.
I ended up buying even though it said back ordered 1-2 months last night my delivery estimate is between Jan 5th-25th. Website now is back to saying 8-9 days though so hopefully it will be much sooner.

Try verizon's web site and search for education discounts. If nothing comes up, I would call Verizon CS and ask if they have a discountfor students.
website says $189.99 for new and $239.99 for upgrades. Do you guys think they will bring it back down to $149/199 or less soon?
Upgrades are $240 now? Aww, I got it when it was still $250! Oh well, $10 isn't much.
Eventually, once new phones come out. Damn, I didn't pull the trigger due to the signal strength issues and now I have to pay $40 more if I go with the GN. I just couldn't pull the trigger without more info. I know I can return it, but you only get one return and there are 3 phones I am looking at.
$189 is still decent...Happy I took the plunge and bought one last night. I almost got in on the Razr back when they were up for a penny but I didn't pull the trigger on a Sunday and on Monday the deal was gone.

I just had a question related to ordering the Nexus on Amazon Wireless. I went to both Amazon and Verizon sites to pick my plans to renew my contract and to see the prices of both phones, and Amazon was cheaper. I noticed though that the text/picture messaging plan is different on both, and i get a better overall plan through Verizon's site. (450 text vs 1000 text)
What i want to know is..would i be able to go on the Verizon site after i make a purchase on Amazon with the plans i have picked out through them, and still switch my minutes/text options on the Verizon site, or will i be fixed with that exact plan that i have through Amazon? The total cost monthly of the Amazon plan pricing is $10 more than what was calculated on Verizon's website. I don't know why the plans aren't exactly the same, but that's how it is for me. Has anyone that have renewed through Amazon able to switch minutes/text plans through Verizon or any other carriers site afterwards? This is the only thing holding me back from making the purchase right now.

I'm in the same boat, ordered on Sunday from Amazon and I've got the 5th-25th window as well. I'm hoping like the earlier people that we get these way earlier.
