New Firmware Pushed This Morning

Mine is updating now also, Funny how it wasn't an automatic push that we had to go and look for it.

SMH How bitter sweet was that to type?

Well hopefully by that time all of the other issues have been solved and there isn't a need for an update. The only thing that can be done afterward is possibly updating something so Netflix can be used on the Thunderbolt and then ICS but I doubt the Thunderbolt will be getting ICS.

Before the update my phone was always dropping data since I'm right on the line of 4G/3G. Since the update I've been solidly locked on 3G which is better than before. As for the GPS, it me about a half mile from where I actually am. My clock widget now just says current location. I was doing fine with GPS before since I got the GPS Status app. Now I want my location back!

I just tried and got the "Service Unavailable.." and I'm in Southern Calif.

Same Issue here in so cal, Called VZW, Tier one had no clue, Tier2 said they made some changes to my account, had me pull the battery and sim and reboot. same issue. They called HTC? and said that they are rolling it out in stages?

Seems other So. Cal users are having this issue and they other TB on my account has the same issue. Assume it's a VZW/HTC issue. They said to wait up to a week as they roll out...:'(

So now that ive restored my phone from a previous backup after finding out if your rooted with clockwork recovery loaded you get a boot loop. Will this update from the update.zip ive download or just wait. Also if other had the same issue with the clockwork recovery boot loop they might want to anounce that so others without a backup dont kill their phones.

Come on guys. Pull the file so the community can use it...
Just connect your phone to the computer and copy the new "update.zip" file out of the cache after it's done downloading but before installing.

Update installed in SW FL. Sorry, I don't have a computer so I can't help out there.

Otherwise, installed quickly and without incident.

***DO NOT RESTORE IF YOU'RE STUCK IN A LOOP***

I'm on a rooted ThunderBolt, and I attempted to do the update, but the update failed. (Android character with exclamation mark (!) )

And was stuck on a loop--keeps says "Shutting down" each time I reboot into the Android operating system.

So, this is what I did to stop the "Shutting down" loop.

1) Once you are in ClockWorkMod Recovery, scroll down to "Wipe cache partition".

2) Select "Wipe cache partition" using the home key or power button.

3) Now, scroll down to "Yes - wipe cache".

4) Press the home key or power button to perform the wipe.

5) When done, restart your phone.

6) Your ThunderBolt will boot into the Android operating system and will say that the UPDATE FAILED.

7) Choose Cancel to stop the update.

8) Restart your phone one last time and you'll see that the "Powering Off" loop is gone.

Hope this helps!

If you are rooted, you shouldn't be trying the update anyway. You are asking for issues.

Me too. Ditto. Except, I'm currently in West FL :) (Tampa - on my vacation). Stock to stock, no issues.
