New Speed Charge/Battery Status Lock Screen with annoying ads "just appeared" on GN4

I got the sAmerican thing. ES file Explorer recently updated and added a bunch of new features and took the liberty of activating them all. If you have that app, that is most likely where it came from. Today I pressed the wake button to my phone and discovered that the lock screen had changed to a blue liquid that corresponded the percentage of my battery. Also had an advertising, was able to disable it through the menu button on the top right corner. Also noticed on the notification tray was a button that said allow special permissions. When I clicked on it it launched ES File Explorer. HOPED THIS HELPED!!!

This fixed it on my phone as it had a tab to turn on and off the fast charge and i deleted the app too lol

Thanks for the help/suggestions

A bunch of apps on my LG G2 updated yesterday, I have none of the ones that others mentioned: the only two that were not Google products were Skype and the HHonors (Hilton) app... So I uninstalled them both as I had already spent 20 minutes or more hunting for a solution

No battery monitor lock screen appeared after the restart, so I guess it was either Skype or HHonors.

Cheers
Tim

Having the same issue, still can't find the app that's causing it I have never used any on previous lists,

Any way to find out which app rather than deleting one by one.

Yes Indeed it was ES File Explorer
Goto tools and disable charging boost.

ES File Explorer here as well. Froze the app with Titanium Backup and the nasty lockscreen was gone.

I didn't see an option to disable the "speed charging" as the poster above.

Reported the app to Google. I used to love ES File Explorer and have it on all my devices...but this is too much. Viable alternatives?
I had this for the first time as well on my Note Edge yesterday. I don't need ES File Explorer since I have My files which is included anyways.

My Files works great.

Mine was from ES explorer. On one system update recently, all apps updated, Nexus 7 restarted, and I was asked if I wanted to enable quick charge. I did, thinking it was the new android feature. Today, the annoying lock screen and the ad at alarm. Disabled the charge booster in ES Explorer. How sneaky!

I didn't see the app that was causing my lock screen either but I went to my phones active applications that are running in the background and found an app called photo editor pro that was running so I uninstalled it and sure enough that was the culprit!

Heres a link to the app

Not enough people are paying for the full versions of their apps so they are trying to force things on us such as this charging screen with ads on it.

They're just going to upset a lot of people who will end up removing this garbage.

So, 2 days ago, a new lock screen "on top of" my regular lock screen "magically appeared" on my Note 4.

It shows time/date in upper left corner, and a ... menu in the upper right that allows me to turn off speed charging. Then, a % charged indicator, and underneath that, some annoying ad... at the bottom, there is a "slide to unlock", which then goes to my Nova Launcher lock screen, which I have setup with my fingerprint scanner.

So basically, now I have to go through an additional lock screen and view an annoying ad to get into my phone.

I have no idea where this came from, and to the best of my recollection, I haven't added any new apps.

Any idea how to get rid of this?

Thanks for your help!

Answer: you have to go to the settings when that screen pops back up and uncheck the lock screen I just saw it today and thought I had spam on my phone. I dont know where it came from either

NGX,
I pay for the 'Pro' versions of most applications and reward/donate to many devs for their roots, roms, etc.

Sneaking this **** onto people's devices is not the way to make a buck.
I'm definitely blacklisting ES and anyone else participating in this nonsense.

The popup showed up a few days ago but me, being a new android user, decided it may have been normal. But the ads put me off and I was scared of viruses/adware. I ended up checking Photo Editor Pro and, lo and behold, it was there. I really liked that app too. Oh, well.

If you can't find it, check every app's settings or delete any new apps. I thought it was Amazon Video since I downloaded it from Amazon and not the Store. Guess not.

It was Photo Editor Pro for me. Wish I would have started on the last page of this post. Thanks for the help. That was driving me nuts.

I got rid of the lock screen by uninstalling a keyboard app called Kika Keyboard. My lock screen didn't say anything about words typed today as someone else's did, but this still did the trick for me. Hope this helps someone else battling with the same annoying lock screen.

Sigh. Just noticed this lock screen today. I've not got ES File Explorer or Photo Editor. It could have been around for ages but only just noticed it.

This is what my lock screen looks like ...

This was the culprit for me , you only have to uncheck the "charging Lockscreen option" from the PhotoColage or Photo Editor pro app.

Thanks ~
