Nexus 4 Ordered on November 27: Order Status and Tracking

I had a shipping notification when I checked email this morning. Of course, the tracking number is not yet registered with UPS and no transactions have shown up for the phones yet. So I'm calling shenanigans until it is posted to my account.

And if it has shipped (suspect), I was originally quoted a 4-5 week lead time by Google.

Yeah man, I wouldn't get my hopes up with that one. 4-5 weeks is a long shot. 1-2 yes, 2-3 maybe, 4-5 bad Google bad!

To clarify my earlier post this morning about my order having the shipping notification email (originally my order had a 2-3 weeks shipping estimate as an FYI).
My card is charged, Google wallet status is order completed, still no tracking update on UPS yet but that's not a surprise (as like many here, the shipping email with tracking number didn't arrive until early in the morning, at 3:00AM PST).

We'll see if the tracking updates within the next 24 hours.

Not to add to the complaining but I wanted to see if others have had this issue.

I ordered my phone on 11/27 and while I don't believe the time is relevant, for those that do it was processed at 3:13 EST.

On Saturday (1/1) at 6:33PM I got my tracking number so as of writing it that was basically 4ish days ago. According to Google though it was actually "shipped" on 11/30. That leads me to believe Google adds in some buffer time before saying it's shipped. Which explains why I got my Nexus 7 a day earlier than I was "suppose" to.

As of this AM. I'm still seeing "A UPS shipping label has been created. Once the shipment arrives at our facility, the tracking status--including the scheduled delivery date--will be updated." on the UPS site and have no tracking data at all.

I called Google last night and spoke to a very knowledgeable rep who was happy to help me out. After some research she came to the conclusion that the phone is probably sitting on a truck at the UPS facility waiting to be shipped out. She asked me to call back tonight if I still didn't see any movement and she would see what she could do.

That leads me to believe that there should be other phones on that truck too so I'm just curious if anyone else has gotten tracking information but not seen any activity for a few days.

I'm not overly worried about it. It's just a phone and Google is new to this. They have a bit to learn and while this process has been slightly painful for consumers who are anxious to get their new phone, I'm sure in the end mine and everyone else's issues will be worked out.

Everyone is in the exact same situation. We have dubbed it "Shipping Limbo."

Based on when my money was actually taken out of my account (Dec 3rd)...I should be receiving the device today but I'm not too hopeful since the tracking number still hasn't be set right. I'm just going to have to keep updating the page every 5 minutes.

I wish I could have gotten my order in sooner, but I was at work, and had been trying since 2 CST to place the order, and kept getting the error message. I eventually gave up, but around 6PM decided to try one last time from my phone, and got in.

I just checked on the order status in Wallet and see this.

Dec 5 - Google Inc. charged your VISA xxx-3109 for $651.46. "GOOGLE *Devices" will appear on your billing statement.
Dec 5 - Google Inc. shipped your order.

It is possible the shipping estimates were just an extreme CYA from Google to avoid a mob of angry customers.

What time did you order. I know I know, it really doesn't matter, but please people tell us what time you ordered.

It means even though we had to pay for 2 day shipping, actually we are getting into time frame of 5-7 days shipping (ground shipping?). If that is true, then who received shipping info last week on Th/Fri/Sat should be getting their phones by today, tomorrow or day after tomorrow and we will get ours by next Tue/Wed.

PSA: For all of you who had 2-3 weeks shipping estimate and received shipping notices last night, PLEASE READ THE THREAD. We have come to the conclusion that it is hit or miss, and that the VAST MAJORITY HAVE NOT ACTUALLY SHIPPED. See below:

just got off the phone with google. they said "it appears we skipped a step and don't know why we sent you that shipping email, because it did not ship. expect to hear from a 'specialist' within 2 days". i didn't even bother asking for a shipping refund, since it did not even ship. so i guess my advice to those in the same state as me (got shipping email and tracking # on the 30th) is to just ignore it.

I ordered on the 27th 2:39 PM PST and unchecked the box to link to my Google account and still have no shipping info.

Woke up to a notification at 1:33am PST that my order had shipped from Google. I also have a new pending charge on my cc. So possible delivery to Seattle by Friday. Hopefully this is the real shipping. I was in the 1-2 week category.

Google has a warchest of cash. They make more money off of search, and ads then they do Hardware, and devices. My guess is they didn't anticipate a massive interest in the Nexus 4.

Yes, I also believe the quick assignment of a tracking number was a CYA move. I got the tracking number on 11/30, and the money was charged to my credit card (not pending) on 12/2. But my tracking number is in "shipping limbo" because there has been no change in status since I got it. Technically the phone should have been delivered yesterday. By 8pm I pretty much figured there would be no UPS knock at my door, and I don't expect to see it today, either. C'est la vie. I have one N4; this is a second, so I'm much more laid back about this one's arrival.
