Nexus 4 Ordered on November 27: Order Status and Tracking

Same with me.. Nobody responded back to me yet. Been over 48 hours.

That makes me very doubtful that they will respond to my inquiry. Why can't they just send an email out to all the 1-2 week people who are stuck with the YBOD explaining what the problem is or at least that they are working on it rather than just ignoring us.

Your order was not canceled. Google does not charge your card until your phone actually ships. Before that, there is a "pending" charge, which means it is deducted from your available credit (or for a prepaid card, your balance), but the transaction does not yet take place. Transactions can be pending on your card for only so long. After a certain period, the money gets put back into your card if not charged. Google will charge your card when your phone ships. Make sure to keep the balance.

Thanks yfan

I think all people with YBOD are screwed - I had shipping label created on the 29th and no updates -- it is simple, there is a glitch with our orders and they have not been completely fulfilled, and won't. This is confirmed now since people who ordered after us are receiving their phones tomorrow. Seems as though YBOD are in the same glitch as people who ordered on 13th with no phone

I called Play Support again tonight, and I know the reps are generally clueless so take this with a grain of salt... but the lady I got at least sounded knowledgeable and, after looking up my order details, knew immediately about the YBOD and what my problem was (she sounded like she's been dealing with this alot.) Anyway, she told me that UPS normally asks for a 24 business hour window for shipment scans but has asked for a 72 business hour window (due to holiday rush, short of help, whatever.) For people who received a shipment notice on 11/30, that 72 business hours would expire tonight, so hopefully by tomorrow we would get an update?

She also said it is possible that the shipments were not scanned and may show up with no UPS update (which has happened before, as alluded to by N7 purchasers).

Like I said I take everything the Play Store reps say with a grain of salt, but at least this lady knew what was going on and didn't give me the stock "shipment has gone to UPS" reply.

The saga continues... =\

Just discovered this thread, and I'm not sure whether I'm more relieved or outraged that others are dealing with this same problem. I'm a 1-2 weeker (gave myself carpal tunnel while rapid-fire clicking that evil order button), got my shipping notice on the 30th at 1am and have been YBOD'ed ever since. I've talked to reps every day since, elevated to "shipping experts," etc., etc., no good. I admire those of you who will be disputing the charge, or swearing off the Play store forever; like most, I'll probably just piss and moan like an impotent jerk until I get the gd phone, then try to forget all about it.

I'm wondering why bloggers haven't parodied the new Google slogan yet; this stuff writes itself: "the playground is closed." Put it next to a cartoony picture of a kid, standing in front of barred gates, tears and snot dribbling down his face... maybe a dropped ice-cream cone on the sidewalk next to him. Or a slide that dumps screaming people into a hole labeled "1-2 weeks"? Anyone with some artistic talent want to put a face to our misery?

It seems like I'm in the same boat as most of you, I even got my order placed 20 seconds before they said it would go up on the 27th. My card charged on 12/3 so in theory I'll be getting it today but I have no real UPS info. It's painful to wait though, this time of year my house is at the end of the UPS route so I won't know until 7pm each day. At least my sim card came in on time and with free, competent, overnight shipping.

I'm a 1-2 weeker and received the shipping email 11/30 and one that is in YBOD. I know it's frustrating but for everyone else that is in this situation, it doesn't mean the phones haven't been shipped. I pre-ordered the N7 right after the announcement and when it shipped, the label was created 7/11 and I received it 7/17. During those six days, UPS never updated the status and showed the YBOD the entire time. The only time it changed was when it was actually delivered. It went from "Shipping Label created" straight to Delivered, NO updates on where it was in between. Just because the 2-3 weekers are getting theirs updated and will receive theirs tomorrow, us 1-2 weekers could also receive them tomorrow without ever getting an update. Now I'm only basing this off of one experience I had with the nexus 7 but it could be similar with the N4.

i've had this experience before with USPS. but even though they didn't update their status, they still delivered on time. google nexus 4 and usps charged us 14$ for UPS second day air and it's already late on delivery. this is a hustle!

Note: not hating on you 2-3 weekers, its just wrong that us 1-2 weekers got our orders in first (which took A LOT of effort) and then end up getting it after you guys
Sorry it sounds like you are saying that you put out more effort to get into the 1-2 week range than those that are in the 2-3 week range. Most likely you actually put out less effort. Because you got lucky and were able to stop trying sooner. While the 2-3 wekers had to keep trying.

Yea the only chance is if we get it tomorrow (or maybe friday). UPS might not have scanned our package and just shipped it along with the 2-3 weekers. If it doesn't come within this week then we are pretty much screwed.

did u really get carpal tunnel for just placing the order?

Kind of true, but not really his point. He is simply saying Google chose to create a shipping order hierarchy and is now cheating those who logically got in line first. Fair is fair.

IF you don't agree with me let there be 1-2 weeker vs 2-3 weeker war!!! :-!

Same for me. And further I am converting from an iPhone 5 to this phone. I gotta say this whole fiasco would never fly with Apple. My i5 order was smooth even though the site was crazy and they seemed to get thought it ok. Worst online buying experience ever!!!

I've been finding all the crazy rage going on over on xda kind of amusing. But now I think their rage isn't crazy enough.
I have been following the thread at XDA since day one and I am now seeing the exact thing happening here no difference.

Same here and this situation is making me consider going back.

Is anyone, like me, fighting the urge to go into all these other threads with people posting problems with their N4 and yelling at them to SHUT UP AND JUST BE HAPPY YOU HAVE THE DAMN PHONE!!!? :)

Well I suppose that's comic exaggeration, but after an hour of frantic clicking, my hand was definitely sore. I wish I knew how many thousands of times I clicked that button... all for this nonsense. Rabble, rabble.

well that wasnt really my point at all, but for the hell of it we can talk about what you brought up.

what you said about effort is possible, but not necessarily completely true. i spent nearly an hour trying to get my order to go through (wasnt aware of tab enter method). in the early stages, the google play store page was alternating between "SOLD OUT" and "ships in 1-2 weeks". after i got my order through i checked back hours later for the hell of it and consistently saw the "add to cart" button. honestly i dont remember what shipping times were displayed then but i am assuming getting an order when the "2-3 week shipping" was displayed was easier because of less traffic. i could see how some tried really hard from the beginning and didnt make it until the 2-3 week window appeared, but i could also see how some just 'tuned' in late, got the order in the 2-3 week window with much less complications than i had to face. regardless of effort, i should be awarded for getting an order in first, not screwed like this.

My label was created on 11/29 and I'm still staring at the YBOD -- So, if I'm doing the math correctly, I'm already past the 72 hour business day window.

yeah I'm considering doing this... nexus 4 on the play store is at a 5-6 week delay... and there are people on xda who have nexii which shipped today, and they're receiving it tomorrow,
What if you do that and then end up in the 5-6 week limbo that it appears will happen as sure as it happen for 13th'ers 1-2 weeker's and will happen to some of the 2-3 weeker's?
