Nexus 6: Complaints, bugs & gremlins thread.

Have done a factory reset - seems to have solved it. Must've been an app but no idea which one. Will reinstall one by one and test.

The only bug I seem to be having is with voice dialing with Ok Google.

It seems if I have have the phone call someone, and then the phone turns the screen off while on the phone. After I hang up, I just get a black screen. I get the home and back soft keys, but they don't respond. So I have to power off the phone.

The phone responds to the power key, so it looks like some type of software glitch. I'm not sure though.

I would try clearing the cache memory, and if that does not correct the problem then a factory reset. Clearing your cache will not loose you data, however, a factory reset will erase your data. So be sure to backup and thing you do not want to loose.

Noticed that while recording uhd (4k) video on the n6,there is evident stuttering and the video is getting stuck in between. What could be wrong?

Wow, major bugs today. Two friends today said they tried calling me earlier ,never got a call or missed calls , they tried texting me , nothing came through, when I was texting with the default app it just sat on sending ....I have had the texting issue since I got the phone...I tried the APN delete fix as suggested from this site several times, seems to work for a while...anyway ended up doing a factory reset yet the problem persists.... Tries Textra ,same thing..... Now I have no confidence that my texts are working ....

I've been getting the black screen that requires a reboot to clear. I just arranged for Motorola to send me a new.

Got the replacement on Friday; no black screens yet. I also stopped using Llama just in case that was the cause. I'm about to re-enable it as a test.

PHONE CALLS NOT GOING OUT, NOT COMING IN
So I jumped ship from Sprint to T-Mobile and in the process, got a new Nexus 6. I love the phone and it works great, except as a phone. Calls coming in go straight to voicemail. I got no ringing, and nothing shows up on the call log. I don't know someone has called me until a voicemail appears. When I try to dial out, it only succeeds 8 out of 10 times. I've tried it with the wifi on, with the wifi off. No difference. T-Mobile opened a network issue ticket. Said it was resolved. It wasn't. They've opened another. Waiting, but don't have high hopes. I'm still in 14 day grace period so I may return it. It also drops calls in areas listed as having great coverage on T-Mos maps. I've cleared the cache, rebooted, etc. Last T-Mo tech changed my cellular to 2G and calls worked fine, but that is NOT a long term issue.

Anyone else have this problem?
Any suggestions? Think I should bail on having this N6 on Tmo?
Thanks.

Wow, I dont know if all complaints ended up in this forum but Im getting second thoughts on this one. Should one wait for the "next" Nexus or is this one still a good buy. Lagging web browsing over Nexus 4 is just not doing it..
Nexus 6 here. By far best smartphone I ever owned. And I go way back.

I cannot receive calls If I turn WiFi on and my preferred network is set to LTE.

If, 3g is set as preferred network or WiFi is off this is not an issue.

I'm in a Sprint SPARK service area and have good signal strength. Down/up of 30/7 Mbps on avg.

Build LMY47D
Baseband MDM9625_104446.01.02.95R

Has anyone noticed a black line going down the middle of the screen. I try to reboot by holding the power button down for a few seconds and then pushing the power of on the screen but that doesnt work. I have to long press the power button down to do a cold boot. its happend twice. I tried a screen shot but the pic didnt capture the line.

It seems to me like they must have resolved most of these bugs in the 5.1 builds before they released it on Verizon (I have the Verizon release, got it a week ago). And I have had 0 problems. Battery life is good, screen is great, camera app already had an update so that's improved, I am very happy with this phone.

Location Smart Lock stopped working on the LMY47E version of 5.1 I've noticed. I flashed that on my Sprint N6

So , I am still having the same problem with sending texts from the messenger app on 5.1. Text will just sit there "sending" for minutes and sometimes go through and other times not. Very annoying and frustrating. Some say it is an APN issue? I have tried that fix in the past and it didn't work.

Camera focus lag, especially on videos. Noticeable stuttering in videos too. Any solutions?

Well, I switched to Hangouts and don't have any such problems

I'm having two main issues after updating to 5.1:
Using the keypad during voicemail and other prompts either don't work at all or are delayed.
I usually have to end the call a few times before I get it to work.

Second, there are times when I try to make a call and it would ring once or twice and get completely silent.
At first it kept happening to this one number and I thought it was something on their end. But now it seems to be happening with other numbers as well.
The person I'm calling is never notified.
Saying that this pisses me off is putting it nicely.

Mike---I would be unhappy, too. If it can't perform the basic functions of a phone, it's pretty useless. What carrier do you have?

T-Mobile.
Also been noticing a decline in signal strength and quality. Constantly putting it in Airplane mode to fix.
Was hoping it was something short term on T-Mobile end but I can safely say that 5.1 screwed my signal.
