First and foremost: This phone is the best one I've EVER owned, and it beats my old iPhone 4S a million times over. Now, onto the problems.
So on Day 1, I took the Nexus 6 out of the box, fanboy-ed a bit, and then turned it on. I followed the Setup instructions and synced everything correctly, then started downloading all my favorite apps on the Play Store, because I'd never had an android phone before (my old Blackberry Torch was hell as well...). Anyways, then something peculiar started to happen; half the screen would freeze in place on stock rom and kernel (Lollipop 5.0), and I wouldn't receive calls and texts until really late after they happened or when I got a voicemail. That part was Sprint's fault though, because their 3G switchback circuit service is kind of broken. So, I had to use my phone on 3G to receive calls or texts on time? WRONG. When connected to Wi-Fi, I didn't receive calls or texts at all. This was in November, almost 9 months ago.
Today, half my screen still freezes. It's probably a hardware defect, but Motorola wants me to send in my only phone for 3-5 business days when I need to contact my landlord about leasing an apartment; either that or pay a "premium fee". Either way, I will get a refurbished phone that is probably significantly worse than my current problem; I've read all sorts of screen errors about the Nexus 6, and luckily mine has no burn-ins or tints no matter how long I seem to leave the screen on or use it. I still can't receive phone calls on 4G sometimes on Wi-Fi, and I think this is dependent on the tower's current software or if it has been upgraded or not because it worked fine at the Sprint store (the guy kept calling me a liar in a joking manner because I couldn't replicate the issues listed above...). It's kind of weird that this screen issue only happens when I'm running the phone's software, you think the phone wouldn't care if I was booting, in TWRP recovery flashing a .zip, or anything else, but it only occurs at random intervals when I'm using the phone, and on any and every application. Anyways, I LOVE this phone, despite how badly I may have criticized this particular one. I do, however, have a problem with Motorola support and Sprint's inability to resolve this issue or even let their customers know this device did not work on their network properly (I posted for months on their support forum... hundreds of people with this phone on their network had this problem, and it took 5 months for them to "acknowledge it was an issue and look into it". What a joke.). Anyways, this phone is a whole lot better than any Samsung phone I've used (my friends have them and I use them sometimes; their Touch-wiz interface is so laggy IMO...) and if you don't mind the size you should, and probably do, love it!
If anyone else has these problems, or even if you don't, what do you recommend? I really don't want to have to flash stock everything again for Sprint to run diagnostics and give me a refurb, or send mine in to Motorola for a refurb when mine is brand new and I've only dropped it once (2 feet from the floor) with a case on it.
