i need an honest opinion from the owners..

does nezus 6p have performance/lagginess problems? I've heard before that it suffered some problems but not sure if it has been addressed by google.

im planning to buy a nexus 6p and want to know how it is..

much appreciated!

I'd like to hear what they are myself. I've owned a 6P since last December and I haven't run into any sluggish operation or performance issues. Sure, its not 100% perfect all the time, every phone runs into wonky spurts here and there, but they are few and far between and the thing's been rock solid and reliable.... and runs great on the latest revision.

I just moved from Moto XPE to the 6P. 6P is smoother and snappier than the XPE. XPE wasn't bad, it's just that the 6P is noticeably better. I did not expect this as specs aren't that much different. You won't be disappointed.

Owned sine 6p, the least problematic Android I've owed, ive had zero issues with it.

Yeah... same here. I've been lucky for the most part with all my devices... to date, I've had one bum one... a Nexus 7 2012 that was DOA out of the box. Everything else has been free of any defects or manufacturing/warranty issues.

That being said, I've owned a few Nexus phones, a few non-Nexus phones and the one thing that I always appreciate about the Nexus line is that the things don't degrade over time. I've owned 4 Nexus phones to date and each one runs as good, if not better, almost a year after it was purchased. I can't say the same for any of the other devices... my wife's S7, about 6 months down the line, is running into all kinds of weird issues now...

I've not seen any lag on this phone at all. Mine is a new one made 8/06/16 and running 7.0 from my first day with it as a new install after signing up for the developer preview right after updating the security patches through August.

IMHO I don't think that there is a better running phone out right now from anyone.

I think it's imperative that you take the glowingly positive testimonials of users here with a big grain of salt. If it's their only device they're invested in protecting their purchasing decisions and will overlook faults and call their device perfect/best/never had an issues/super smooth.

I've experienced the odd random reboot but that's only ever happened to me maybe twice while running the Nougat beta and I think once on Marshmallow but I hit the phone pretty hard sometimes with multiple apps like chrome with many tabs and the camera using HDR+. I am a very heavy user and I can imagine if you don't treat your phone like your almost primary computing device then I would wager that you'll never see the issues I have (as infrequent as they are).

With the August security patch update YouTube would completely freeze and that has happened to me twice in the past three days but never since and prior to. Today I got the September patch update which is the one Google actually made available for flashing so I am hopeful that will have resolved the issue.

With that said, when I was on Marshmallow stability was rock solid and the Nougat beta was still very reliable. Nexus devices tend to have the best longevity of any Android phone given the lack of bloatware and updates deployed directly from Google.

It's an excellent device but I must warn you that there are new "Nexus" phones expected to be announced October 4th with up-to-date hardware (the 6P is a year old now) and they are believed to be called the Pixel and Pixel XL. In your shoes I would be interested in seeing what those devices bring to the table before taking the plunge on year old hardware. Not only that but the 6P will become even cheaper.
