Re: The Verge Review on the 6P is out, I'm shocked!!!
I think Google wants these phones to hit more common users' hands - not just us tech junkies. This is also my conjecture, but seeing at least the 5X in commercials during the baseball playoffs represents a different approach to me than Google has made in year's past. They've had commercials, but they seem more geared for just Google services rather than hardware. I'd like to see some 6P commercials, too. From what I've seen and read this looks to be that premium stock Android phone that I, and assuming a lot of others, have been looking for.
They definitely seem to have taken a different approach to the nexus this year. Earlier nexus phones never looked like they were intended to be flagships or geared to the average consumer. Nexus phones were just a baseline for OEMs and Developers to use. A reference phone didn't need a premium metal build, amazing screens or truly top tier specs.
The 6P however seems to take aim directly at other flagship phones giving the average android user something truly eye catching. I'm just curious if they will really market the phone or not.
Obviously this is all my opinion and conjecture as I had no hand in making the phone, sadly.
