Nexus positive and negative

What is the screen like at maximum brightness? I'm concerned that the reported nits is so much lower than some of the other comparable phones, although I understand that isn't the only factor involved. I would say that about 30-40% of the time I would be using the phone would be outside, so I'm a little concerned about the visibility in bright sunlight.

Since you're all just seeing the phone inside the store, I know you can't give me much of an answer yet; but I hope someone will tell me what they think once they have one of their own.

This probably won't be a deal breaker for me, but I'd like an idea what to expect.

But on MKBHD review I feel like he is little bit disappointing with nexus 6...or maybe just my opinion..

He said the Nexus 6 was going to be his daily driver for the foreseeable future...... Considering the devices he has at his fingertips that sounded like a pretty good endorsement of the device as something to use everyday...

When they talk about battery life I always take that with a grain of salt because in the past my personal results have been different.

I've had every Galaxy Note except this current one. Reviewers and forum posters raved about the battery life, yet for me it was just average. It did good for a phone with that screen size, and I could get through the day but it wasn't extraordinary and I'm not even a power user.

I work weekends, all day and that's my test for my phones. If they can make it through my work day (13hrs.) then I'm happy. My Galaxy Nexus struggled badly and I would barely make it, so much that I had to purchase a portable battery pack and bring it to work with me. Every Iphone I've had dominated and lasted ( I don't know what Apple does but it works). The first Android phone I had that matched the Iphones was the LG G2.

Now it seems Android phones are catching up because my One Plus One last nearly as long as my Iphone 6 Plus. The difference is the Iphone drains a little slower and the standby time is crazy. An example is, this morning I took my Iphone 6 Plus off the charger to switch the sim card into the Oneplus. This was around 7:20AM. I just checked my Iphone (time 6:23PM) and it's still on 100%

Well I went off on a tangent again talking about battery life. Bottom line is I just want to get the phone in my hand so I can see for myself.

I think he was disappointed at the average battery life.

He seemed a little disappointed but seemed to give it a pass because it's a quad-HD screen.

He's a Nexus fan but keeps it real. I remember last year, he said the Nexus 5 battery was straight up bad, but he still liked the phone overall.

I somewhat agree. Its a negative in the sense that you expect a phablet, esp a really big one, to have excellent battery life due to large size, and last for ~2 days in average use, like the Note/Dropd Maxx/Turbo etc. I think 'lasts 1 day' is a criteria met my many normal phones as well.

The Max Turbo has a bigger battery, and a smaller screen. For a 6" the screen battery usage will probably weigh more on the N6 than any phone with the same size battery Like a Note 4...simple physics.

I know I will like the Nexus 6, but I will be very (happily) surprised if it matched the 6 Plus.

Every review that I have read gives the edge to the Nexus 6 performance wise. Build goes to he 6+ because of the metal chassis, but that is subjective I don't like the bottom bezels on the 6+. I like the Nexus 6 in white, and I like the build, compared to the 6+. The Nexus 6 gets better battery life too.

If it truly does I will be very happy. However I have to see it for myself to believe it. I also think I will like the Nexus 6 build better because I really like the feel of the Moto x 2nd gen.

On a side note, I just played with the Note 4 again at Best Buy, I like the new weather & clock widget, but besides that it looks and operates just like the same old Touchwiz. It's just not for me.

Has anyone else hit the gallery button from the home page after taking a bunch of new pictures? The 5+ seconds it took the phone to load the thumb nails still has me worried.

Probably a software issue I have heard of this happening somewhere.

I don't think it will get better battery life than the 6+. I'm sitting at 61% with 3:30 of usage.

I think lollipop could be the best thing to happen to touchwiz, so I'm gonna note it until next year or at least six months which is the average time I keep a phone, could of got a g3 but it looks like a fridge

Personally I believe build quality to be a tad better the iPhone6 and miles above the Note 4. It is very bright on auto brightness in a well lit store but cannot comment how it does in the sun (my Note 2 has to be turned up to full brightness to see in Sunshine and Nexus 6 is definitely brighter than my Note 2 so should at least be a tad bit better)...
