Note 4 Is there a 1080p and 1440p play option on youtube?

Ive noticed that it depends on the quality of video. If its not a 4k video my options only go to 720 or 1080 for a hd video

1080p and 1440p is back! No rhyme or reason.

Same here, I only get 720 on mine. I have T-Mobile as my provider btw, hopefully once Lollipop comes out it will resolve this.

Makes no sense how my note 3 was able to get 1080p yet the Note 4 can only go up to 720.

Are your videos also freezing all the time when its buffering? Never had this on any phone and I'm 100% its not our internet, since that's perfectly fine

All I did was clear the cache once and then the data twice and now have 1080p and 1440p. First time since getting my Note I am able to see above 720p. Looks great

Its weird, I only had up to 720p when I first got the note 4. I tried clearing cache, data and tried reinstalling several times. I ended giving up but the other day I opened youtube and bam, 1080p and 1440p were there and working. I don't know what happened but I'll take it.

Note 4 on AT&T and like most of you, 720p max. Very annoying and other than rooting, nothing posted in this thread has worked for me. I might as well have a 720p screen. Unreal.

I was trying everything and this is the only thing that worked for me. I updated to yt 6.013 then I logged out of yt. I later then cleared cache and data ( i did not restart phone ( i tried that about 30 times and it didn't work. I opened yt app without logging in.Played a 4k video( some videos claim to be 4k but only gives you the 1080p option) and there it was I had 1440p option.

Using t-mobile note 4

In settings search for application manager then look for YouTube.

Just out of curiosity, does anybody with the Galaxy Note 4, who is also using AT&T able to acquire anything above 720p? I've cleared data as well as cache, but no luck for me. I tried signing out, but it doesn't seem to let me. Have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling youtube with no luck with that either.

I just signed out of YT, cleared the app defaults, cache, and data, opened it up and checked a couple videos...both max out at 720.

Android Police posted an article about a new YouTube apk. Ive tried everything in this thread and. Wouldn't get 1440 to display. I installed the apk then cleared the cache and data and 1440p was there and it looks amazing! Note (ha!): it did not show up until I cleared the cache and data. Hope this helps!
