Note 5 Battery life thread

I've had an N5 for a couple of weeks now, and battery life initially was wonderful, for my use case.

Then, in dealing with a BT auto-connect issue, I wiped System Cache in Recovery and since then, battery life is even better! Could it be the wipe, or is the phone learning or just settling-in over time.

Thrilled with battery life on the N5!

I have seen great battery life with my Note 5. Try this app called “Trepn Profiler”. Its by Qualcomm and it can give you a more task manager like data by process and help you understand where is the leak. There are several guides on google on how to use it to figure out battery issues.

Same here. Just got update this morning ...after 11 hour workday...normally at around 60 percent. Today at 35%. What gives?

Let it settle in for a couple chatge cycles. I beleive last update may have included some kernel tweaking do to video calling but jist guessing. Also after update wipe caches it helps sometimes.

K think i got it now lol...thanx

I want to know if people actually use their phones for calls.

I usually average around 1-1.5k minutes a month (and 2k+ text msgs). This month has been kind of light for me though.

Maybe that is what saved my battery life on my devices? Talking doesn't stress it very much. :).

I actually talk on the phone a lot and also text text almost all day long. The pic below shows the history of one contact for yesterday and today.
Yes i am rooted, running a custom kernel obviously since modding the kernel is necessary to obtain root. I also undervolted all gpu, cpu, bus, etc frequencies..
Battery life has been a very important thing to me ever since i got and rooted my first smart phone, Droid Charge and i have sort of a list of things i do to every phone to help with that. Anyway the point i was trying to make is that the potential for Note 3ish battery life is totally there on the Note 5 with a bit of tweaking, and coupled with fast charging im very happy with my N5.

This is what I've got so far today, am so happy with battery life. I used package disabler and it made a significant instant effect.

Do you have a guide for all your tweaks and custom kernel setup? Would really like to understand how to make the most of this awesome hardware.

Actually ill write up exactly what i do in a couple hrs when i get home. Im at my sons football game. But remember evem if you do exactly what i did your battery life may not be the same because there are so many things to factor in for example the types of apps you use, gps Bluetooth on/off, using wifi calling drains a lot of battery, bad signal strength and so on. Ill post later what i do and what i have and hopefully it helps someone.

Help me fix the Cell Standby. It improved today but I would like it a bit less

I'm guessing the cell standby is because my signal isn't too great. Standby time has improved greatly from taking care of wakelocks

Does anyone know what in the world TouchWiz is doing?
