Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth
If I want to download a 800 mb update over mobile data, I can.
If I want to download a 800 mb update over mobile data, I can.
Now I have a new perspective regarding updates. I used to be like you. I would read about the fixes, features, patches that updates bring. And I would wait impatiently for them. And when I would read that others on competing carriers received the updates and I didn't it would bother me. I don't pay attention to them anymore. So, when I get them its a total surprise. I like this way better because I don't even know if I got it later or sooner. I get it when I get it. I'm much happier this way.
Does it let you download an app over 100 MB on cellular?
No it didn't. Tried again. Thought it said cancel or continue. Says connect to WiFi to download and so on. Again all depends on the user. I couldn't care less to download on cellular. Not a drawback for me at all but other people yes.

The point is that Apple is sticking their nose where it doesn't belong. No one really wants Apple or Android controlling the data they pay for. Shouldn't matter to Apple if my plan is 1 gb a month and I go over or if it is unlimited. I'm an adult and I can make the decision to go over or know if I have enough data.
That is the attitude of Apple that many Android users hate.. Apple makes all the decisions, even ones that aren't their business.
This is EXACTLY how I feel. I do like Apple and iOS, but this stuff makes no sense.Yeah I was about to say... They always restrict it.
It's not a major major deal but it bothers me. Why do they feel the need to police my data plan?
For those who have access to WiFi I can see this being a non-issue I can't imagine the inconvenience it would be if you didn't have Wifi. What do you do? I'm in the same boat. And I have unlimited data so I try to use my cellular network as much as possible.I have access to WiFi, but my mobile speeds are much faster. I prefer updating over mobile.
What about system updates?Yeah I guess I understand what people are saying. I guess it's odd that Apple does it when you can stream all the music from Apple Music over cellular anyways. My home network gets same Speeds of basically LTE here which is hovering around the 95MB/sec. Not a deal breaker for me as I hardly ever need to download an app that large. But i do understand what you guys are saying.
You have to do those over wifi, too, don't you? What about system updates?
