Note 8 Discount/Previous Note 7 Owners

I'm wondering how this would work: I have an old good condition S5 I could use for this discount; however, I currently am using an S8+ (verizon) and have about $600 left to pay.

I'm trying to figure out if I send in my S5, how to get rid of the S8+. If I upgraded through Verizon, I would be able to turn it in at 50% paid off for a new phone. I guess my only option would be to sell the S8+ privately? Would Verizon even allow me to switch to the Note 8 without the S8+ being paid off?

Ok, so Im a liar.

Im also a new Samsung financing customer that has a Note 8 on pre order :D

Yes, yes. Im going to the same thing with At&t.

The buyer will not be able to carrier unlock your s8+ until it is paid off, as long as they intend to use it on vzw it is smooth sailing.

Why wouldn't the carrier just give you the discount and get you on the hook for another 2 years unless you're paying in full. That make sense to me.

I am going to confirm this with AT&T, but if you did the Next plan, this really isnt a huge help, I suppose...

I owe about $400 on my Next plan to pay off my S7 Active, so I have to pay that off before I can send in my phone to Samsung and get the $425 off. So, then I pay the $525 to Samsung... I am out $925... saving $25.

I understand that I wont have any more Next plan payments, but there doesn't appear to be a huge savings here.

Am I missing something?

This is why it's not a deal For everyone. In order for this to benefit everyone they'd have to forgive any payments left on replacement devices allowing for an immediate N8 upgrade. And not only Samsung orders; carriers also.

Can you do the trade and buy outright from Samsung? Gonna trade my s6. If you finance through Samsung wouldn't you be free to upgrade anytime on your carrier since you are not financed through them as long as you kept paying Samsung. Also unlocked version is cheaper than the Verizon version. Will the unlocked work with everything on Verizon?

Big Kitty Kat! Wassup love?! Did you pre-order?

That's what I did as far as outright purchasing. It said that is should work with all carriers, but I went with my carrier anyway.

No, I never have. Just here witnessing all the shenanigans every Note release brings.

If there was a deal to benefit me directly, I'd preorder. As it is, I'm cool strolling into a store and chilling for a half hour to get set up.

But wait. Why u gotta act like that?! *ROLLING* Its really too early to watch a cartoon twerk, but Lawd I'm amused!

I like my store. My contact is friendly and handsome as all get out. Plus, I always get him a gift card for lunch for his commitment to great service. ;-)

I only gave all of that in my head. I can't even twerk a pinky toe in real life. But in my mind (and under the influence) I feel that how I can be.

As a guy who used to have the job, we appreciate things like that. It is NOT easy. Because some of you are just terrible. Not many though. But YOU specifically? You're one of the one's that make us keep going and enjoy it. That and a bomb commission check. LMFAO

My old manager just recently told me I could come back. I slightly snickered. I would've done it too if he would've let me do part time.

I was able to use the discount and pre-ordered from Samsung to be safe. Chat support gave me the url to use wher you enter your e-mail and it tells you if you're eligible.

Also, trading in my S7 Active which I had to get after returning the Note 7. It is not listed as a trade-in option during checkout, but I confirmed chat support and they will take it back for AT&T.

$556.50 was my total
$654.99 was the savings
$21.88 is the monthly payment (paying over $33 now)

... all in all it's a pretty good deal. I still have the 256gb card from the Note 7 offer back then so I went with the free 360. All worked out ok for me.

Here is the url to check your eligibility:

Feeling like an *****...have been all over the site. I see something offering me 300 for my S7E...nothing for former N7 owners.

Ive seen customers act so stank I'd have either walked off the job or tell em eff em and get fired. People can be so nasty. A rep can only do so much and like u said, they WANT the commission. I'm sorta in public service so I know how far a lil appreciation goes. I'm more than happy to compensate for great service.

went ahead and pulled the trigger with Samsung's 24 month payment plan. Too difficult to pass up with the $425 trade-in for my note 5!!

When I get superior service I'm trying to get in the habit of sending in a letter of appreciation to the store manager.

Called the U S Postal service number advertised as the method to commend employees. Got 15 minutes of ads, timeshares, wifi, etc. Finally hung up.
