Note 8 Discount/Previous Note 7 Owners

Ive seen customers act so stank I'd have either walked off the job or tell em eff em and get fired. People can be so nasty. A rep can only do so much and like u said, they WANT the commission. I'm sorta in public service so I know how far a lil appreciation goes. I'm more than happy to compensate for great service.

Listen. Help me, help you. If you want to be belligerent, then by all means, go ahead. I could be just as ratchet right back...but for what? You're entertainment enough.

Messing with me? I'll be in the store like, "Does anyone care about this child's temper tantrum?!"

To trade in my iPhone 7 Plus 128gb or not and get the $425 note 7 owner deal....I already ordered on AT&T but willing to cancel that and order with samsung. AT&T is charging me $75~ of tax, where Samsung doesn’t it seems.

I'm keeping My 128gb 7plus. I traded in my S6 edge. Still got the discount.

Wow Nice deal-I thought I read that we will get he Note 8 earlier than September 15th-said You will have it before everyone else. Any idea on when to expect it? Said expedited shipping 2 days from shipment. You have 15 days to return your trade in. when received. It gives you the opportunity when ordering to pick choose from 2 free packages. Might be nice if all shipped at once! Guess we will see. They gave me $425 for Note 5. Offered as well 24 payment free financing from Samsung and pay in full.
I think more than fair for loyalty. I am very happy with this DEAL.
Please-if you have heard about early shipment before the 15th-can you note when order placed and date received?
Thanks

All is forgiven Samsung.

So I can buy a used phone and trade it in? Is this correct

Remember, it's not a flat out $425. It's "up to $425" discount. Here is part of what the terms and conditions reads.

5.** Good Condition and Additional Requirements
Samsung will determine, in its sole judgment, whether your Trade-In Device is in good condition. A Trade-In Device is in "good condition" if it:
• Powers on and holds a charge;
• Has a functioning display;
• Has no breaks or cracks or other visible defects that go beyond normal wear and tear; AND
• Is not on a black list of any kind.
In addition to being in “good condition”, your Qualifying Trade-In Device must satisfy the following additional requirements (as well as all other requirements set forth in these Terms):
• Has Reactivation Lock, Google Factory Reset Protection, or any other anti-theft locking software disabled; AND
• You must have performed a factory reset and removed all personal information from device (as described in Section 3 above).

So I can buy a used phone and trade it in? Is this correct
Yes but make sure the used device in good condition and one of the eligible devices. Also take pictures and if possible video of the phone, packaging before sending. In this way you have some proof to show that the device was in good condition if they try to pull some stunts on you.

I went through the entire process this afternoon with my Note 5 and was approved for $425 but I had read so many horror stories back when the S8/S8+ first came out where Samsung did this deal and then denied the trade-in after they got your phone because they said the battery wouldn't hold a charge over a period of time or some other lame excuse and then sent it back to you. Sounds REALLY GOOD but... I just backed out and will go to my AT&T Store like I had planned in September when they arrive and hold one in my hand BEFORE I lay out my cash!

I'm still leery about it too.

No, I never have. Just here witnessing all the shenanigans every Note release brings.

If there was a deal to benefit me directly, I'd preorder. As it is, I'm cool strolling into a store and chilling for a half hour to get set up.

She sits n laughs.. mocks us Sammy sheeples... while buying more note 8 cases ;)

But wait. Why u gotta act like that?! *ROLLING* Its really too early to watch a cartoon twerk, but Lawd I'm amused!

I like my store. My contact is friendly and handsome as all get out. Plus, I always get him a gift card for lunch for his commitment to great service. ;-)

Share! My sprint store is crap.. I'd get better service from preschoolers on bad days without naps...

I was going to do the trade in with Samsung, but Best buy right now has the best deal, they are taking 150.00 off the phone AND giving you 480. 00 for the trade in of certain phones, making the monthly payment 12.50, now you can't beat that!!!

Dang this trade in offer, i had made up my mind to skip the note 8. I have a S8+ and i thought i would just wait till next year and see if the Note 9 had the FP scanner on the front, but now......

I need to find a phone to trade in i guess.

I could be wrong but if you try to switch your phone at in or before the end of your agreement I think you'll have to pay the taxes and what was due throughout the 24-month contract. I'm just finding it hard to believe that Samsung will do this now there's got to be a catch to why they are doing it I somewhat don't think it's fair I think if you still had a Note 7 this would be a wonderful contract but for people going out buying dump phones just to give back to Samsung in order to get this phone doesn't seem very fair to me. now if I had known about this offer before I pre-ordered through T-Mobile it might have saved me some money I could have gotten the full $475 or whatever they're offering on my 7 Edge and I owe Less on that then what they're giving me but then again if you are still paying on the phone through your carrier you will have to pay that off before you can use that phone for trade in with Samsung. correct? I don't have that kind of money laying around in order to do that but there's got to be more to what they're saying I just find it hard to believe that Samsung's doing this and it's making it difficult for those who have already pre-ordered now if I want to go this route I could save my jump and use my 7 Edge that is on another line to stop a line pay online that it will be mine once it's paid off I don't have to turn it back in that is the phone I wanted to trade anyway but it's not on my main line so my S8 Plus which is a jump phone is on that line and they would not let me swap lines in order to keep the S8 plus and jump the 7 Edge so I'm screwed no matter what but I still don't think this sounds like it's just a plain easy signing go contract with Samsung there's got to be more of a catch to it than what we're reading, and then you have to realize if something goes wrong with the phone you have to deal with Samsung and not your carrier and you have to send off to get fixed, I just think it will be a big mess trying to clear out the phone on the line you've got it on now in order to put another phone on it and then send that one back to Samsung I don't know I may be wrong but it sounds tempting though. I don't know what the benefit of it is why are they doing this it just doesn't seem right to do it now why didn't they do it back during the S8 Plus and why are they offering it this late down the road I didn't get that kind of offer I just got an offer to bring my Note 7 back in and get another phone it didn't we was long before the S8 plus even came out and now they're still doing it with the Note 8? I wish someone would explain it to me so I'll know whether it's even worth the trouble. And then you will have to wait for the money which may take 4 to 6 weeks or longer before you can pay off what you owe on the phone that you traded in or you have to pay it off before then and just sit and wait on your money it's just too much trouble I don't think this is going to go very smoothly and it bothers me and I think I'm just going to sit back and just let mine happen the way it happens and chalk it up as a lesson learned and maybe not jump the gun on the next pre-order

Sorry to only partial quote you, but you may be over thinking this. You are correct if you have a phone that you still owe money on then that would need to be paid off before trade in and you will need to run the numbers to see if it makes sense. However if you have a paid off phone that does meet the trade in criteria and you are planning on buying the Note 8 then this is a good deal.

I can only speak for Verizon, but there are no issues switching between phones (just swap the sim).

I was going to do the trade in with Samsung, but Best buy right now has the best deal, they are taking 150.00 off the phone AND giving you 480. 00 for the trade in of certain phones, making the monthly payment 12.50, now you can't beat that!!!

Which phones?

I don’t see a trade in option on their site.

The only problem with that is I think dependent on the carrier that trade in is credited to your account on monthly credit. It might not be a problem for some people but I get a little leery of being "locked in" for 24 months.

Did you find the part where they give you a trade in option? I tried to mock one up for Verizon online but was never offered a trade in option.
