Note 8 Discount/Previous Note 7 Owners

I was going to do the trade in with Samsung, but Best buy right now has the best deal, they are taking 150.00 off the phone AND giving you 480. 00 for the trade in of certain phones, making the monthly payment 12.50, now you can't beat that!!!

So what is the $480 for? I'm just trying to understand what all these discounts are for. What I'm thinking with this Best Buy offer is that you are actually tied into their two-year contract but 12. 50 a month is all you're going to be paying? It's just too much going on at one time to try to figure out all these promotions I mean if Samsung had mentioned something prior to the pre-order time at on Wednesday night or early Thursday morning some of these people may be going with Samsung instead of going through their carriers and maybe that was their point not telling anybody because they didn't want everybody Under the Sun using their promotion instead of going through their own carriers but like I said earlier and another post I'm afraid to cancel now and try to go through Samsung because just my luck everything's going on back order. I did the same thing with the S8 plus I pre-ordered 12:01 a.m. the next morning and a week later I decided to cancel my pre-order and just hold off well then I changed my mind and what happened? It went on backorder so I had to wait till May. Too much stress to worry about all that hate losing the money but I just don't want to go through all the hassle.

I went to bestbuy.com and saw no such trade in option. Where did you see this?

Yes but make sure the used device in good condition and one of the eligible devices. Also take pictures and if possible video of the phone, packaging before sending. In this way you have some proof to show that the device was in good condition if they try to pull some stunts on you.

That's a good idea. #CYA

I get the note 7 after the first ISSUE. I had a hard time getting one... but I did get one. had it for a short time and then the 2nd disaster hits. Waited for the v20 to come out and swapped it out for that. now this deal Comes along with Samsung but I still owe on the v20 and I'm at a bad time in life after some spine issues so I have no extra income or money to burn. I think the damn carriers should honor this deal and take the phone you were forced to get when they made you return the n7 and Just add on the difference in price for the N8 and tack on the extra plan time you choose.

I was so excited when I heard this promotion and was looking into cases etc only to find out I'm pretty much screwed and stuck with my old phone for a little over a year yet.

I'm half tempted to tell them I'm jumping ship to another carrier unless they work with me... They will probably just laugh and say. BYE! LOL

If you're w with T-Mobile there's a possibility you can upgrade your phone with v20 to the Note 8 with no money down and just start over your contract again. You just have to call and by the way nobody forced you to take that v20 nobody forced,,,,,,,, anybody to take any certain phone after the Note 7 Fiasco you had to exchange it for another phone but nobody forced you to take the v20...... just saying.

I'm at&t.

They didn't force me to take that phone, but I wanted my note 7...I didn't want another phone. So in essence... They forced me to return my note 7 and get another phone which I didn't want to do.

Are u on the Next program? I am and only have to pay 50% of my current device to upgrade. For me, that's either $100 or November.

I don't think I am? I'm on my fiance's plan and I know they asked about terms and she said 2 years vs 1. so I'm guessing in SOL.

Ohhh ok. Well check to make sure! There's Next 24 which is 2 years to pay the device off, but you can give it back for another device after 1 year, or half is paid. Can't hurt to check it out. You may be surprised!

After much trials and tribulation, I made my 4th and final pre order and just used my credit card instead of dealing with TD Bank.

$425 Note 7 discount
$300 AT&T employee discount

Total $236

Samsung and I are friends again

Thank you...I will check into it!

That is correct nobody force anything after the fact. However, the device I question (note 7) was recalled and to try to generate some kind of consumer love with discounts that are actually nothing more than smoke and mirrors is just stupidity.

After everything that happened with the note 7 why would anyone buy a note 8. I am confused. After a year and a half of fighting with att to return that dang phone I can't think of why I would continue to buy their products. Keep in mind I don't qualify for their fake discount because after my return I went back to my note 4 which does not qualify me for their supposed "note 7 discount."

There really is not much of a discount my phone was worth $355 on swappa $425 to Samsung so that's $70 difference Not a hudge Coustomer lolality .
Ooh and the N8 sets record presales higher than any other Note line

except I had an old s5 collecting dust so I think it's a pretty good deal especially since I wasn't expecting a price break. it seems Samsung is working hard to over come the note 7 battery issue. I recieved a full refund got to keep the Oculus glasses, SD card, and 2 $25 credits for using Samsung pay, Verizon reset my upgrade and let me return chargers and cases. then used the upgrade at Costco to extend my grandfather's cheeper unlimited data plan getting a S7 edge for half price and a free portable charger and gift card. the S7 is a great phone but I miss the s pen to take quick handwritten notes on screen and annotate PDFs for contacts....

Checked... No deal. I owe over $500 on my V20 or over $300 as a trade up.

This is garbage imo. I really wanted the note 8. I loved my note 7.

I called at&t and asked what they could do and they said nothing. I said that sad... So I could just go to another carrier and dump you all together since you won't help. The guy told me to hang on. I was on hold for like 15 minutes. When he came back he said someone will call you in 2 days with new options for you. I was very happy. In one day I get a text... Your case number had been terminated. Thank you.

If we didn't get a work discount... I'd tell at&t to shove their service so far up their......

Oh well... I'm stuck with my V20 for over a year now...
