Note10+ fingerprint sensor FIXED. Much better now!

My device performed an update first thing this morning. Not sure of the version, etcetera.
Alas, let's see how the device handles over the next few days...

The fingerprint update has done zilcho for me. Maybe cuz the built-in screen protector is on? I don't have any after market screen protector applied.

I'm at a point of activating face recognition for the first time. Grrrr.

I believe the update was to correct the issues with allowing an unregistered print from unlocking your phone due to a silicone screen protector being installed. If it improved the FPS response time it was probably a by product or a placebo effect

Do it. My finger print sensor works just fine but also have face recognition on. Works perfectly, best of both worlds. You won't regret it

I received it and find my phone reads my fingerprint worse. It was fast previously and read first attempt probably at least 95% of the time. I guess maybe I need to delete fingerprints and re-register them.

same here. just installed the fps update and there is no difference so far. finally did the face recognition and immediately got a notification about getting the fat, ugly mug away from the camera :-) seriously, I set it up for the first time for any phone this past week and am surprised as to how easy it works. will still stick with the fps for everything else - for the time being.

my fps has always been quick on my unlocked on t mobile got update i dont notice much difference

For all I know, it could be a placebo effect. I think it's working much better. But then again, it's been working pretty good to begin with. About 17 out 20 times it works. It's still slow but it works.

I've had too many times of failed attempts at fingerprint access, then the phone forces me to enter my PIN number. Even more frustrating, I have to enter my 4 digit pin number VERY slowly one box at a time, otherwise another different problem occurs. I have my phone enabled in settings so that with a triple tap on the screen, there is instant magnification of whatever is shown. So when I try entering my pin numbers too quickly into the box, a magnified view of the screen shows up instead of phone access. Then I have to start over again by triple tapping the screen to UN-magnify, then entering the 4 digit pin number very slowly one box at a time. I find all of this frustrating. But I like the triple tap magnification feature a lot (when working as intended) so I'm not willing to disable this. Aaaargh.

I miss the rear finger print sensor of my old S9 phone which worked perfectly without frustration!!

Odd on the pin entry.... Is it lagging or something?

Well, if that's a placebo effect I'm on it, because I was almost selling my Note10+ because of the s**t this sensor was, and now it's working like a charm. Like you said, 17-18 times in 20 it unlocks my phone quickly, and without that c**p need to "press harder" the screen, which I think I almost broke twice so hard I was pressing.

There is positively a strange lag going on when I'm forced to enter my PIN number after too many failed fingerprint attempts. This is a 100% consistent repeatable problem which is strange because my Note 10+ otherwise doesn't have any lag issues whatsoever except when I'm forced to enter my PIN number for initial phone access. This is a total mystery to me. Maybe it has to do with my lockscreen setting, I dunno. Maybe it has to do with my Always On Display, I dunno. Maybe it's partly due to my triple tap screen magnification enabled, I dunno. I have so many things enabled on my phone that I don't event want to start trying to troubleshoot the reason why I'm forced to enter my PIN number very slowly when I'm forced/prompted to do so. I just know this is an annoying repeatable issue.

As a test, I switched to face recognition to give this a try. Out of 10 consecutive attempts in a row, the face recognition worked every single time! Even better, it recognized my face with or without my reading glasses on, even in a dark room. My Always-On-Display is always enabled showing a clock and date. This means I have to first double tap the screen to show my unlock screen, then the camera notch on top of screen has a circular white ring moving in a clock-wise rotation for a quick moment, then the lock icon below the camera shows the lock mechanism is raised and moving from right to left to unlock the phone. Then I swipe up on the screen to open the phone. This all happens much faster than all the words I typed on this post. But the important thing is that facial recognition works 100 percent of the time and very fast, much faster than repeatedly trying to access the phone through multiple failed fingerprint attempts. I should probably start using face recognition and spare myself of all this unnecessary aggravation.

Was working great. I installed a Whitestone Dome screen protector and now the fingerprint sensor is almost unusable.

FPS after update is crazy fast. Stupid fast. So fast i think its fake xD.
