[Odin-EC05] Froyo EC05 Prerooted/CWM v2.5.1.0 RFS (Odexed)

I am running Odin with the no data loss update and it has appears to be stuck on the modem.bin file. It has been sitting here for 10 mins...should I pull the battery off and start over?

Yes. Then leave your battery out and connect your cable and go into Download Mode and run the Odin package without the battery in.

Also make sure any Anti Virus is turned off on your computer.

How did everything go?

Not so great. I am not at all happy. I'll repeat what I posted in another thread...

The update hosed my ringers/alrets/notifications. I had stock Eclair before the update.

The phone will vibrate but no alerts. If I go into the sound settings then try to set Voice call ringtone or Notification ringtone I get this error message:

The application Settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

When I try to change the notification settings in ChompSMS I get this error:

The application chompSMS (process com.p1.chompsms) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

I can't change custom ringtones in contacts, I can't set notifications in the stock sms application. Anything involving setting ringtones/notifications causes the app to crash. And the phone won't play any, so text messages, phone calls, voice mail alerts, etc. make no sound. My phone is a mute.

Everything else seems OK -- including regular audio from other applications. Does anyone have any suggestions on fixing this problem without doing a hard reset???

And apparently I can't get into the market either.

The application Market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

This just worked for me. Can anyone point me to some custom ROMs that I can now try with this root?

So... It's been 5 minutes... I've got a blue progress indicator almost 100% across, yet no Pass and no green... And no reboot...

Umm.... Getting nervous...

SCORE!!!! Bah BYE DK28!!!! Now, finally I can try to see if Android is worth sticking with... (crossing fingers there aren't more completely botched aspects of the OS, but only minor annoyances..)

in the message box. i want to know if this is normal.

Lost my asphault demo. Everything else worked fine. I seen paul mention he had it in a file in another post, any link to get this backt? I really don't mind it being gone but I had heard you need it for OTA updates if we ever get anymore.

So i just rooted my Epic 4g and I am wondering what I should do next. Im kind of new to this but I need a little direction. Does anyone have any recommendations for me as what I should do to improve my phones abilities and some of the possibilities that rooting allows me to do?

Well there is a sticky here for removing stock apps (bloatware) to clean your system up.

You can now use Wireless Tethering

You can use Titanium Backup and MyBackup Root to do backups of your system

You can use programs like Screenshot for free to do screen captures.

Search "root" in the market and that will pop up other apps that require to be rooted.

Eventually if you want to explore custom ROMs you now have that option. Need to convert to EXT4 filesystem first.. Check the stickys... (Cyanogen Mod 7=Gingerbread Woo!!)

Lots of options you just need to explore... ;)
