[Odin] Froyo leaked packaged custom ROMs w/root and clockwork **UPDATED**3/25

OTA Froyo Root

Just curious,

What happens to the rooted, custom Froyo flavors when the OTA update comes out?

Will we be able to get it? Will it offer more features than the leaked versions?

Will I have to reflash my phone with the updated ROM?

If you are on one of the custom Froyo ROMs right now, most likely you will not even get the notification that the OTA update is available because the OTA system will see your phone is already on Froyo. The official release will probably not offer more than the current custom ROMs. And if it does offer more the indie devs will put out custom ROMs that will offer more shortly after the official release.

Any Idea how to leave the screen on while plugged in, without enabling debuggin?

Even with debugging enabled the screen will not stay on when plugged in. Older versions had a check box right below the debugging box for keeping the screen on, but the Froyo builds do not have that option. Haven't heard of a fix or patch for it either.

Why are you a dummy today? I'm a dummy everyday. You should have seen me on these forums when I first rooted. I think DXC still has nightmares over trying to help me root for the first time. :p

DROIDXCON: Or whomever might be able to help:

I have managed to get the phone rooted, thanks to all the help, purchased and backed up my apps, now started the Odin push of "EB16SC28_DXC". I've tried twice following the steps, but when it looks almost done, I get an Odin communication error saying I need to close th application (Windows Side) and the process never completes.

How can I get past this?

Thanks,

Randy

Update: Never mind.. It passed the third time! Now, to start the thing up and see what beast has been hatched..

Thanks!

@ Landshark or DXC----

Thinkin about doing some surgery on my Fascinate...ugghh. Ended up dling EB01 full froyo rom with root last night from DXC's list. It's buggy bc I'm getting FCs for Gmail of all things now. As a result, I can't get into the market. Backups are completed.

Should I return to stock and do this process all over again? Or should I go to the EB01 developers rom again then bump up to a newer rom? DXC thought the code may have gotten messed up because I had so many problems when I first rooted and flashed. Any guidance/thoughts?

i would reboot the computer
Download and reinstall drivers
disable any antivirus thats on
try a different USB port in the back of the computer
Make sure your battery is out during the entire process
