[Odin] Froyo leaked packaged custom ROMs w/root and clockwork **UPDATED**3/25

What is step 1 about? Downloading update.zip to the sd card. Its never mentioned after that any ideas?

By putting this file on your card, you can enter into Clockwork Recovery. The step itself is not needed, per se. Clockwork allows you to put the phone into a mode if you want to perform installs via zip (without Odin), themes, patches, etc. It is firmly suggested that you do it because you may need it to recover from a problematic installation, and is meant for users that want to experience more advanced modifications to their phone.

Ok this may be a stupd question but im new to this. Will this wipe my sd card where i loose my music and photos/videos?

Ok im gonna ask one more question then im gonna try this. Will the over the air updates work after I root and do this upgrade. (Future use)

That's a negative Ghost Rider. I've only been at this a few weeks but trying to help out the guys that helped me by answering this and I'm 99.9999% sure that it won't and will not. Which if you ask me is a good thing because you won't miss all the Verizon stuff/crap/bloatware. Goodluck, this is really easy to do btw, don't be afraid, if something does go wrong, there is help here.

OMG IT WORKS!!!! Running 2.2.1 Firmware baseband EB01 and Kernel 2.6.32.9 Thanks to you all who helped me.

Was going to wish you luck, not that you needed it, as DroidXcon's instructions and packages are rock solid. But now you're successful, and not in need of any luck-support, so instead you get Congratulations and Welcome to the Dark Side. Wasn't so bad, was it?

Personally sporting SC 2.9 with Steel Blue theme. Hope that the attachments show off my phone well enough.

Looks good

Looks good

Thanks. Now I am going to take a look at what it takes to change some of the icons to match the theme. Some icons are already "themed" because I'm sure that the phone shares some of those icons with other apps. Until I can find someone to work with on creating an application that transfers files off of my phone to an ip address, I'll have to work on this.

changing from current rom to the 2.9 superclean

I took the chance and finally decided to give root a try. The root was successful on eclair. did titanium backup pro. Then did this rom-" Debloated/Deodexed Froyo Leak+root+Froyo Clockworkmod EB01DB_DXC.tar"
two questions.
1. This seems to be working fine so far, for the last couple of days. took the apps and data i wanted from titanium backup. Should i do a whole new backup on titanium backup and dump the old since everything is working?
2. Can i up grade to the 2.9 superclean from my current rom without issue? I keep reading about cleaning the cache. Do I have to take additional steps or can I just flash over my current build with odin. Sorry for the newbie questions. any help would be appreciated.

I want to flash froyo, but I dont know how to at this point.

I am currently running the EA28 Update on my fascinate.
I want to switch to froyo. I want to switch to the one that has been the best so far. I see there's a whole lot of them now.
I used to have froyo, but got scared and went back to full stock.
Wut Do?

I just downloaded Odin and I'm lost. Lol.

Use the link below to get you to the Froyo flavor of your choice:

Full Stock Froyo Leak+root+Froyo Clockworkmod
EB01_DXC.tar

Debloated/Deodexed Froyo Leak+root+Froyo Clockworkmod
EB01DB_DXC.tar

Super Clean version 2.9 - EB01 Froyo leak root+Froyo Clockworkmod
EB01SC29_DXC.tar

Respectfully, download the bloated version with Verizon applications, debloated without, or Super Clean without Verizon and most Samsung stuff altogether.

Many people here are Super Clean fans. Regardless of which version you choose, make sure that you choose the version that is a data wipe version.

The step by step that DroidXcon made is very straightforward. Download the files needed, install the drivers, unrar the Super Clean file if that's where you go, open Odin, prep the phone without the battery and place it in download mode, transfer the file, remove the cable, replace the battery, and reboot... all paraphrased of course.

There are several people here to help you if you get stuck.

Welcome aboard!!

1. I only keep one backup on Titanium, so its really up to you.
2. Yes, you can update to 2.9 SC from Debloated with the EB16SC29x_DXC.tar.

When you update, you automatically get cache and Dalvik cleared during the update. No additional steps needed, and you would do it with Odin just like the others.
