[Odin] Froyo leaked packaged custom ROMs w/root and clockwork **UPDATED**3/25

So better off going with the 2.9.2 even if it says that it will not wipe data. Better back up my info, apps and so on. When I open winrar it will recognize the file that I need to compress/extract?

Looking back at some of your older posts it looks like you haven't upgraded to Froyo yet is that correct? If so, you will definitely need to use the 2.9 file that wipes data first, then the 2.9.2 file.

No, I would be going from eclair to froyo

OK, so you will need to back up your data. You can backup your contacts with backup assistant, or export them to your sd card, or sync them with your gmail account. For text messages you can get sms backup app from the market. For your apps you can get MyBackup from the market.

LandShark, so when we back up all of our apps and we have succesfully flash froyo. Do I go to the market to download the app that I used to back up my stuff or how does that work?

MyBackup does sms, mms, and contacts as well, but more backups is really never a bad thing

Are you already on Froyo? If not you have to use the EB16SC29_DXC.tar first. If you are already on the Stock Froyo Leak, no need to wipe. You only need to wipe data when going from one operating system to the next (Eclair to Froyo.) You already did that if you used one of DroidXcon's ODIN packages to get to Froyo. You don't open winrar, just download the EC10SC292x_DXC.tar.rar file to your computer, right click on the file after it is downloaded, and choose "extract here." Then you place the extracted EC10SC292_DXC.tar file in the PDA section of ODIN.

Before you do that though, you will need the latest cwm, and it will be easier to do it while you already have the battery out and ODIN open. Before you flash the 2.9.2 file, flash this CWM-ALL in the PDA section of ODIN. It should only take 7 seconds. Then unplug usb, close ODIN, reopen ODIN, reconnect USB while holding volume down button, and flash the 2.9.2 file in the PDA section. Put battery back in, reboot, and you're done.

Answered the question I was just about to ask. Thanks! About to go from 2.9 to 2.9.2. Should I flash Voodoo???

Oh grud. 400 pages. Anyone happen to know what's in the update.zip? I don't know how but I missed putting that on the sd. Is that cwm? It still flashed to rooted froyo though from stock eclair. (I have to many phones and can't keep up) how do you get to cwm on the sf?

You can ignore the update.zip file, and delete it from your SD card if you have put it there already. Just odin flash CWM if you don't have it currently, if you do have it then n/m you're golden.

maybe a dumb question, but once i complete the whole process, of course the phone will lose all my information. Once I'm running the 2.9.2 how do I get my stuff back? just download MyBackup again from the market?

I am using 2.9.2 w EB01/EB016 and I have had my Good Enterprise corporate email system quit working and now it will not re-install. The corporate IS dept, Verizon, and Good, can not understand why this will not re-install on my phone now.

Is it possible by updating my phone with this software it is creating an issue?

Please advise.

I flashed EB16SC29_DXC.tar.md5 with Odin, successfully, boots up to superclean, restored my backups, everything seems golden... I would just like to know how do I get CWM to stay on as recovery. It's usually there after the initial flash, but when I reboot, it reverts to stock recovery.

I previously attempted to flash CWM All before SC2.9... it did the same thing.

Is the CWM something I have to flash every time I want to use it?

Thanks,

I'm a newbie to root/rom/theme/flash scene, as of this past Sat. Thanks for all the help. The android hacking scene seems to be as diverse as the android market itself.

on my fascinate the EB16 just wouldnt work with the 16 so i had to redoo all with EB01 and went from there with all EB01, the Cwm is a way to add or change yer android up to Froyo 2.2, or SCEB01 or whatever yur prefference minght be. i find CWM more reliable than Odin as everything in Odin has to be a ***.tar and with clockwork mod you let CWM open the ZIPs..
maybe yur ph is as mine..the 16 for me is a disaster looking for a place to happen

Have you tried to hold down the power button and the Volumn button at the same time.. on a re-boot ?,,
then you just tap the lower "LEFT" button on the fassy to move from one screen to another.. one at top says reboot, the other at top says Android and then maybe there will be one that has a few words at top about lagfix etc ... you have choices but remember if you do a Odin to start off with flash the files of yer choice, then flash the clockwaork all .tar.. do a reboot (Cut the ph off) and back on then as it starts back up......Hold down the power button and volumn button at same time untill you see the samsung light up. turn the buttons loose and walla there is clockwork.. flash the newer clockwork.zip with the CWM aka:ClockWorkMod.. and the recovery will be there anytime you need it..

.

no it is not necessary to flash clock work everytime you reboot,,it should give you a choice before you reboot to reboot recovery or reboot or some other items can be chosen

yeah , cwm isnt anymore reliable, it is just more flexible, odin over writes the whole partition where as cwm just writes to certain files... EB16 whether it was flashed with odin or cwm just was not a stabel kernel overall

i'm gonna have to start all over myself .i've been trying to flash a mans theme and my ph always seems to be aok then in a few minutes its beserk.. so this time i flash i will be useing Odin first to get the PH setup then i'll use clock work to finish everything up..

i'll be here awhile ..maybe i can help yu.
