[Odin] Froyo leaked packaged custom ROMs w/root and clockwork **UPDATED**3/25

can anyone offer me any advice? Im on SC 2.9.2 and I havent gone to anything EC01 because I have been under the impression that new better things are coming soon. I would be comfortable moving to the EC01 rom, but I would have to use a friends PC to do so, so I would rather not go through the hassle if something else will be coming soon.

I dont know if anyone has any insight or advice, but any would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thats what i'm leaning towards. I could have sworn my original post was in the themes, roms, kernel, etc discussion thread because it really has no business in this thread.

Which file are you trying to update? Are you trying to change the script like the instructions say in that thread? If so, at the top of the page when you are in root explorer should be a white or gray rectangle that will either say R/O (Read only) or R/W (Read/Write.) Whatever the box shows is what you will switch to if you click on it. So in order to be able to write the box needs to say R/O.

the box does say R/O :'(

I was not trying to run the script but just edit it manually
per:
Instructions:
With Root Explorer (or similar app)
go to /etc/gps.conf
In Root Explorer long press on the file and select open in text editor
Change the first line from:
NTP_SERVER=north-america.pool.ntp.org to NTP_SERVER=us.pool.ntp.org


i will pull the script and give that a try
report if i stil have issues, well if my phone has issues that is

Thanks to everyone involed with Android Central and to the rooting process. I came from Blackberry to a Samsung Facsnate I500 on Verizon. I hated all the junk they put on it , I did the root with superclean now I have a rocking phone. Thanks again to all that helped.

I'm also not sure if this the right place to post this question. Mu apologies if it is not. I recently installed SC 2.9.2 with DroidXCon's odin method (thanks, DXC, great job man). The only problem I'm having is with google maps. When I zoom in close enough to get
3d renderings of buildings, the phone freezes up and then force closes on me. Any suggestions?

Does SC 2.9.2 come with the latest version of CWM? Or do I need to download another?

The SC 2.9.2 in that thread sfobrien linked you to has the latest CWM. According to GizmoDroid's instructions in that thread, you actually have to flash both. So flash the CWM via ODIN, and flash the 2.9.2 file from that thread in the new CWM and you will be all set.

Because I did that and successfully kept all my apps and got into a lovely loop of force closing. Took the advice you posted about going full stock (thank you for posting that link, by the by, as I was basically lost as to where to find that), so hopefully everything will work out, but it was rather confusing to see all my apps still present and crashing.

the problem is that you flashed 2.9 but did not fully turn on the phone. it will only wipe when you turn the phone on . sounds like you flashed 2.9, then immediatley flashed 2.9.2 which would give you superclean 2.9.2 but it wouldnt wipe causing the force close loop. sorry i should have mentioned turning the phone on after you flashed 2.9

Yeah, that would be it.

I guessed as much, and tried flashing back to 2.9 and turning the phone on, but it seems like it was too late by that point.

I understand there are now methods of getting to ED01 for those of us who are rooted, themed, etc..Just wondering if there is any chance we could see a very nice, always well put together, Droid X Con Odin Package (complete with Kernel, Radio, Root, etc) with the ED01 debloated/debinged release that Adry posted early this morning...thanks in advance..

On 3/28 I flashed EB16 and was having some issues with it and you told me to flash EC10 with 2.9.2. I used the link in the first post of this thread, EC10SC292x_DXC.tar. I've been using it ever since but I never bothered to look at the "About Phone" screen to see what I have (dumb I know).

It says my Kernel version is 2.6.32.9, Baseband & Build number are EB01.

Do I need to flash again for 2.9.2? Was there a problem with the mega upload link that has since been corrected? I know that I used the link provided..

As I earlier, if someone can spend some time to help step by step. That would be great. Sorry if I am asking for help since this is the first time attempt and are bit afraid.. I like the release. Only thing I dislike is the bloated and games on the phone. Thank you for your time.

You might want to hold off for now there is some great stuff going to be happening soon...but Im not sure about the stay awake thing, someone with more experience with that will im sure be able to help you.
