I just downloaded a stock file and installed it instead of the full one as you suggested and and went through the process and passed and i was able to boot up, so now I am up and running. Thank you very much for your assistance, glad there's people on here like yourself who know what their doing & don't mind helping others.

Thanks , Glad it worked out. Mark the original USB port you used so you know not to use it again for critical functions.

Purchased my new Samsung Fascinate Galaxy S a week ago, and I love it... Until I saw all the garbage Verizon installed on it. I had it in a tolerable condition using the Enhanced Google Search and LauncherPro, but I just received the Android 2.2 update from Verizon. Bing is back in my life, and I am not happy. I decided I had enough, and my friend and I rooted the phone last night. (I am total noob regarding this stuff.) However, we tried using ROM Manager to flash with "Super Clean ROM" and encountered the same issue everyone else has. We stopped there. I am not looking to take over the world or turn my phone into ("sex") (saw that comment from someone and it made me laugh!). I simply want a clean ROM that allows me to use Google instead of Bing and doesn't have all the garbage Verizon installed. I would like to follow the original post, but I am concerned of rendering my phone unusable. Is it as simple as following these instructions and downloading the "Debloated/Deodexed Froyo Leak+root+Froyo Clockworkmod" ROM? Thanks much.

First off ROM Manager with the fascinate is a big nono.

And if you want a simple package that comes with root and is debloated check out landsharks thread.

Follow directions in his post. He also has CWM all link in there too.

Thank you pikanate! I read the post, and it looks promising! I do not believe ROM Manager caused any problem other than it failed to flash the ROM. (The CWM writing was blue after restarting the phone.) The phone has been running "fine" since my attempt, but it's obviously not in the state I desire. I will post any further questions under the thread to which you directed me as it appears to be relevant to my situation. Thanks again!

Because that's a Galaxy S 4g and this is the Fascinate forums, you need to ask them there to help you, it's a different phone. Go here Samsung Galaxy S 4G

Ya, that mod wouldn't work for you more than likely. If you want the equivalent then use root explorer to find the bstats.bin file, delete it and reboot your phone.

First off DO NOT PANIC. there is a simple solution, just remove the battery , plug the phone into the computer, press and hold volume down and it will enter download mode. Please review all the steps oulined in this thread and try and flash again

this is where im at... and even i retry it comes to this again..

need some help.... just to make sure i did this right... i flash both 2.9 and 2.9.2 via odin right??? i did that and now on reboot i get force close loop!!!!

Never freak out unless your phone doesnt turn on , like there is no power or anything on the screen, then maybe worry

ok i flashed 2.9 via odin and when i turned it on it still came up with FC loop..

edit... ok i booted into recovery, but it rebooted and came on to the home screen with no problem... should i reboot again just to be sure before i do 2.9.2???
