Yeah wipe data and cache and im assume you are using 2.4 from adrynalynes thread in whiche case yes flash it from clockwork

Just want to give thanks to you guys. I am running Froyo on my Fascinate thanks to you guys. And better still none of the Verizon crud.
hey, ive never done any rooting or flashing or anything like this to a phone. tonight was the 1st night i ever did anything like that to my fascinate. i used the super clean 2.4 version and im happy with froyo but i would like to somehow find out if i can get rid of this and just get the regular version from the video with all the bloatware & such. the superclean version varys from the one in the video and is not a pure black notification bar. also the dropdown menu from the notification bar is a light grey i dont like. also theres no samsung media, music, video hubs or any samsung widgets. it seems stripped down and not as nice looking. id rather the regular stock. plese let me know how i can do this. i tried to repeat the procedure that i used to get it originally and put the version i wanted in the pda seciton of odin and it did nothing. it said all threads completed success 0/ fail 0...some one pleeease help me ..... please
First Download and install Drivers HERE
Disable any antivirus running
Use USB ports in the back of the computer, if you already are change it to another port in the back of the computer
Make sure your battery is out of the phone during the entire process

just once, it is used to enter clockwork recovery from stock recovery,,,,if you would like a newer version and not have to worry about going from blue to red recovery you can use Landsharks thread

Well it worked today. I had to wipe data and now no issues. Good thing I used ti backup last night. Thanks to everyone for all your help
what is the update.zip file for????? i have sucessfully complete the rooting to EB01 im just curious about the update.zip file
EB01 kernel is not that great on battery life...couple weeks there will be custom kernels.
Update.zip leads you into clockwork recovery when you aplly sdcard:update.zip from stock recovery

That's no reason to stay stock .do you like stock? Do t you touch wiz? Each method is as easy as tge others so your user level does not matter.. Try super clean 2.4

Touch wiz is the samsung interface like the dock at the bottom with the four icons. And the app drawer being horizontal or the samsung widgets....etc
