[Odin] Froyo leaked packaged custom ROMs w/root and clockwork **UPDATED**3/25

If you hit the home button again, it will come back as well. It would be a good idea to know the button actions for the different recoveries. I have them written on a post it ;)

Stock 2e
select - Home Key
Menu - Blank screen

CWR
Select - back or power
Home - blank screen
Back - search soft key

HTH

Also in red, after you get done flashing something, pressing the menu soft key should take you back to the first red cwm screen so you can reboot your phone.

Used B01SC22_DXC.tar as my flash option... worked GREAT!!!! It's SO smooth and cool!! Thanks, Dave

He's made it so easy for everyone to get on Froyo, by the time Verizon actually tries to put the "official" Froyo out, nobody will accept the ota push because we will all already be on it :D

You do realize we forum users are an infinitesimaly small fraction of one percent of total fascinate owners out there, but yeah I know I feel special that us hackers can get froyo b4 the masses and we get cool roms and themes and voodoo that the regs would say huhh whaat? I feel kinda sad for them hehe

Thanks! I wrote those down so I wont forget. I was going in to flash Chris3D's Battery Framework when i accidentally hit the homekey. I ended up just waiting, then hitting the home key again and it came back up. The battery framework flashed without a problem and works great.

I have a question about froyo. I had heard with froyo it made it possible to store certain apps on the sd card? Is there a way to move apps to the sd card? or is it just certain apps u download or what? Sorry I know this might be a dumb question to some but I am still learning. Is there a thread that I can read/study on froyo?

yeah its mostly just certain apps that you download if the developer set it up that way , but i dont see any reason to move apps to sd at all

I think it may only be third party apps, but I'm not sure. I know it's not all of them. When you download or update an app that can be moved to the sd card you will get an alert in the notification bar letting you know that app can be moved to the sd card. You can also go to menu=>settings=>applications=>manage applications and click on each application. If the application can be moved to the sd card the button that says move to sd card will be lit up. If not, the button will be dark grey. I haven't bothered to search yet for an easier way to check which apps can be moved to the sd card.

if its been more than ten mins i would unplug, delete your existing tar file. redownload ,,,,,shut off antivirus on your computer, use USB port in the back of the computer , if already doing so try another. then try again.

My first try at flashing, it locked up when downloading the MODEM, so I followed these steps, and it worked like a charm. Now I have Froyo. :D

Thanks to all who helped put together the files in the OP.

Good Morning, DroidXcon...

Thanks for your hard work with this v2.21 UpDate. I installed it on Saturday and have been enjoying the new interface and features :) Unfortunately the phone works fine until it goes without activity for 10-15 minutes? It then goes dark... Power button does nothing! :'( I have to remove the battery to get it to come back to life... any suggestions?

I realize now that I forgot to move your "Update.zip" files to my SD card before running your Odin program. Could this cause my problem? Where should the unzipped "UpDate" files be placed on the SD ( ie: Root Directory )? Should I run the Odin again? Unfortunately, I have downloaded and installed numerous Droid APPS since the upgrade... Is there any way to save these Apps before re-installing your upgrade? If all else fails, how do I get back to the original VZW v2.1 ROM?

I'm very new to this hacking world, so I'm sorry to bother you. I appreciate any suggestions you can make...

Thanks - Robert.

Hi gr8homes, and welcom to Android Central,,,,if you want to back up your apps go to the app store and download titanium backup. Once it is installed open it and click on backup/restore at the top, then hit the menu button on the phone, select batch then select backup all user apps+system data.

Flash back to stock to make sure we start with a clean slate.
download the DI01 package from here:
http://forum.androidcentral.com/599597-post3.html
after you flash back to stock with odin, turn the phone on , then after it is all booted turn it off and try to flash one of the froyo packages i provide, maybe try a different one

as for update.zip,,,it is not to be extracted. leave it as a zip file on your sdcard in no folders..but this has nothing to do with your problem . update.zip is used to enter clockwork recovery but that is neither here nor there at the moment..

and what did you mean by Droid apps.. the term Droid only applies to Verizon "Droid" branded phones such as Droid X, Droid incredible, Droid, Droid 2....etc
