[Odin] Froyo leaked packaged custom ROMs w/root and clockwork **UPDATED**3/25

Ok...I tried it again and now I am on a system recover screen and I have the options:

reboot system now
apply sdcard:update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cashe partition

I'm not touching it until you tell me what to do.

you say you tried again , you tried odin again and it worked, or you tried getting to recovery?

I tried ODIN again while I was posting my first question and I didn't think it was working. then the phone shut off and when I turnd it back on, it went to manuel mode.

ok, I will try the new drivings the the 2.4 like you suggste adlet you know. Thank you for your time. Hopefully it works!

are you flashing odin with the battery in...make sure the battery is out the entire time or odin will freeze up or fail

OMG!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!! The updated samsung drivers made the one click root work!!! I did have the battery out and have no idea why it didn't work, but you my dear friend are my hero. I have been working on this since 9pm and it is now 1:45 (Ok...I took an hour out for tetris with the room mates) but my poor dad lives across the country and is without a phone until I get this working for him. I know...TMI but THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!

A buddy of mine wants his droid x rooted and I am having trouble with that, when it comes time for that...will you be able to answer questions or do you just do samsung?

got a problem after upgrading to superclean 2.4 - phone eats battery like hell! on same usage before upgrade it worked 3 days, now just one. main suspect is display, on manually set lowest brightness and default timeout it's a top consumer in "battery use" stats. anyone have ideas&solutions ?

Screen is top consumer in any build on any phone unless you are talking on the phone all day or never look at your phone......unfortunatley this is a leaked build and we as leaked expect it to have bugs, battery consumption is quite possibly one of the. This is usually caused by the kernel, since this is not officially released and the devs dont have source code we are stuck using the stock kernel provided so until we get a source code we will not see more power efficient kernels... try removing "power savings" mode and keep your brightness on low like you said.

it's already done with brightness settings. i'm talking about same phone usage as before (own fascinate from november), on stock 2.1 display was 4-th consumer. think i have non-typical problem cause my friends phone (not sure that he have 2.4, but some version from this thread) works fine and have great runtime! anyway thanks a lot for so fast response.

You are welcome....you need to remember alot of things are to be considered when power consumption is the topic we all use our phones different. Talk tume . Texts , time viewing the web. Widgets. Even habits of checking time on your phone they all contribute to consumption. I spend hours using my phone to view the forums....then a big factor that makes thing vary is cell signal. If you have poor signal lets say at work this can also kill your battery. For example on one end of my building I get full bars on the other end I get nothing. On this end of the building my phone dies quick......so comparing your phone to your friends is not such a great reference point

I think I just aged myself a year, lol. The process went smoothly, but I was so terrified the whole time! So far froyo (the bloated version) is running perfectly for me. Hopefully it stays this way. :) Thank you so much for these instructions, the materials to follow them, and all of the help everyone on these boards provides. I've learned so much reading around here!

Welcome to Android Central, and im glad this worked out for you :D

I've said it many times that the process is very simple but peoples anxiouty about it make it more daunting then it actually is. Hopefully you can move on to bigger things knowing than you have support here at Android Central :) have a great day

I tried searching the Forums and sorry if this has been asked:

What are the differences between SuperClean 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, & 2.4? If it is theme/home screen differences, does someone have pictures they can post?

Thanks!
