What did you get up and running? What did you install, superclean 2.6, 2.5? Adrynalyne just posted some kernels that the devs think will fix the wifi tether issue. Check them out here:

It should already be rooted if you have EB01 from the OP. Do note that there is a trace of Verizon being big brother and monitoring for circumventing the tethering policies so do so at your own risk. Some have reported that they've tethered just fine and no charges from verizon but the developers don't know for certain exactly what it does so they advise against it.

Hey PJnc284, Adrynalyne just posted some EB16 kernels from jt1134 in his superclean thread. He says he and the other devs think these kernels MAY get around the monitoring bug. FYI

see, i knew i was doing everything right. so i flashed 7 times for nothing... the problem was restoring the google search updated 2.1 that allowed google search on the softkey... wow hours of stress for somethung trivial...

Glad you got it worked out. I have been running different versions of superclean for quite some time and I believe ever since 2.3 or so my long press of the search key has worked and gone to google, so I don't understand what is different with other people who haven't been able to.

Welcome to Android Central ljmays. Where is that version located? And if you are already rooted on 2.1, you should be able to upgrade to Froyo fairly easily.

i had 2.1 which I rooted then I put it back to stock so I could upgrade to froyo which I did. It's great but how do I root froyo so I can use barancle to tether with? can I used the same root file I used on 2.1

Yes, you can still use the same root method you used before. Which version of Froyo did you upgrade to and what method did you use? Some of the methods include root, so there would be no need for you to root.

2.2.1 CI500_VZW_EB01_FROYO_REL.tar.md5 .I flash it with odin worked great just didn't know if i can use the same root file I used on 2.1 FascinateRoot_v02

I'm not familiar with that tar file name. Where did you get it? XDA? DroidForums?
