[Odin] Froyo leaked packaged custom ROMs w/root and clockwork **UPDATED**3/25

By reading the description it takes out a lot of stuff we use. unfortunately. We installed the normal version, with everything. I am new to this and trying to make it as easy as possible.

what ended up being the problem in the end dave

I created a folder dedicated to the unzip file. I had to hook up my USB to the back instead of the front. Lastly, Landshark told me to hold down the volume down buttom until the first box in Odin turned yellow. After making those changes I was GOLDEN!!!! The only problem is that everything got wiped out....apps, photos, some docs. I'm in the process of reinstalling all my apps again...uggghhh. I had Titanium backup, but I lost everything even after I backed everything up. I don't get it. Any suggestions on how I might recover all my stuff or am I SOL?

bro i had been giving you most those suggestions all along the way lol, holding down the volume down button is in my directions lol

anyhow, if you backed everything up with titanium they should be there,,, look on your sd card there is a folder called titanium, look inside there should be another folder called backup and inside that there should be a folder named as a date i believe like 2.22.11 or something like that if thats there then your backup is there

I had a lot of problems with this too. I had to make a dedicated folderon my SD card entitled "unzip" folder. From winrar, I extracted to that folder on my SD card.

update.zip does not go into any folder it needs to go directly on the sdcard not in any folders and left exactly as you downoaded it from my post.... otherwise when you go into recovery and tell it to apply sdcard:update.zip it wont find it

LOL bro.... I will check it out. Now that I'm froyoed with sc2.4 you think I should jump up to sc 2.6x?

sure now that you know what to do it should be a breeze

Sweet I was able to restore everything....phew. Now my wife wants me to get froyo on her phone....lmao....especially since she was giving me such a hard time and complaining and talking crap about why I'm spending so much time on doing this.

Can I go straight to sc2.6x for a totally new install on an eclair 2.1 update1? Thanks. Gotta go...movie night with family. I will check back later.

I just wanted to say thanx again. about 2 weeks ago I finally got fed up (tired of waiting for Verizon to get it together and release Froyo). I followed the instructions and went from Eclair (stock) to Rooted EB01 with the 2.4 update. Just updated to SC_2.6 and still have all my data, apps, etc. You guys are amazing! Thanx for all that you do! I love my phone again!

You guys rock!! Just went from Stock EB01 to Super Clean 2.6 and it's freakin' snappy as heck!! Feels like my phone has new life again! Love the fact that it took some of the bloatware out. Love the AOSP lock screen option! And all the extra ring tones are pretty cool. The Honeycomb boot screen is pretty cool also. I'll try loading a new kernel later but damn, this version of Froyo just makes my Fascinate kick butt. Can't thank you guys enough!

Just upgraded both the wifes and my phone and have come to find geo tagging is active on the camera and can't be shut off. This is a big problem since we use wifi at home it gives our exact address on every picture we take. Any info would be great. Love being on 2.2 finally, phone works how it was always meant to, but need to figure out how to shut this off so I dont have to roll our phones back to 2.1. We both use our GPS alot so prefer to do this without shutting it off.

When you have the camera open, hold the phone horizontally, hit the arrow on the left side of the screen, hit the settings button on the lower left of the screen, from the settings menu hit the wrench, the bottom option in that menu should be gps, uncheck it to turn of geo tagging.

Installation Question/Help Please

I just saw that froyo was leaked and am really excited about installing it. I've used ODIN several times to update my phone but am still really new to this stuff.
I already backed up my batch system data and user apps with titanium backup, but what version of the .tar should I download?

I guess i just dont know what these words mean:
Deodexed?
SuperClean version 2.1,2.2,2.3,2.4?
SuperClean version 2.5,2.6 EB01/EB16?
w/Nonvoodoo eb16 kernal w/ dummy tether module?

I've never had a ROM installed on my phone. Is SuperClean a Rom? And/or is that the same thing as Adrynalyne?

When I install froyo, will I have to install titanium backup or can I use the froyo feature of backup to reinstall all of my data?

I really appreciate the help!!

the way the stock versions of our phones come apps are broken up into pieces to make the phone supposedly run faster...these pieces are called odexed... the process of deodexing is when the dev puts the apps back together. this allows for themes to be easily added....

Superclean 2.x are all versions of Adrynalynes rom. the latest being 2.6

EB16 kernel with dummy tether module is basically a kernel set up so that you can in theory wifi tether your phone without being tracked by verizon.

i would use titanium to restore, the froyo feature trys to download and install ever app you have ever installed even the ones that you have removed, its actually a pain in the butt

and Welcome to Android central

I tried searching but couldn't find any answers. But I recently rooted and flashed to the debloated version of EB01 and everything is great except:
*My GPS isn't working
*My phone keeps telling me my USB cord is plugged in and it randomly unmounts and scans my SD card
*My phone tells me that my charger is plugged in and I need to unplug it (even though it isn't)
*My battery never goes under 100%
*I can't go to the gallery and add a wallpaper. Whenever I try I get a force close (something about cool iris media). The only way to change my wallpapers is to use the Live Multiwallpaper app.

Can anyone help me?

I looked there, and even in all the other menus not associated with the camera and the setting is not there. I even went back threw and put this version on (http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...nmodified-stock-engineering-test-package.html) and still geotagging is enabled with no way to shut it off. Had a friend over today and updated her captivate to 2.2 with kies and she didnt have the ability to turn geotagging on and off, but it was off by default. I was just hoping to find a quick fix, or to feel like an idiot because it was something simple i missed.
