[Odin] Froyo leaked packaged custom ROMs w/root and clockwork **UPDATED**3/25

OK, Lttlwing16 and cl36 and anyone else having problems with the audio in Flashplayer 10.1 or 10.2 - went to cnet, played a video there, got freaked out by the slow, deep voice. Thought I was getting a ransom call from a kidnapper :p
Went to this really awesome site Android Central, played the video for the Thunderbolt and audio streamed flawlessly and was in sync with the video. Will check some other sites.

As Alice Cooper said, "Welcome to my nightmare"

The EB16SC29 . the last froyo selection on DroidXcon's choices. I have it on my desktop but can't find it when the window opens after i click pda in odin

Did you use winrar to extract the tar file from the original download?

no. i must have missed that step, also my phone does not have the yellow triangle onit anymore and no yellow block in odin, i haven't unplugged the phone

we'll get to that in a moment. Go to post #2 in this thread and follow the instructions there. Once you are done with that, come back and post here at the end of the thread and we'll take it from there. Once we get your phone connected to ODIN, it will only be a matter of 10 minutes or so until you are done. Also, make sure you downloaded and installed the Samsung drivers from post #1. Make sure after you download the drivers, double click on the file that was downloaded to install the drivers.

Everything is all done!! Thankyou DroidXcon and Landshark for all your help. I wasn't this nervous when i bought a new car, but it's done and all I can say is WOW what a difference !!!!!!

I posted this in the CWM thread but thought I'd copy it here in case it gets seen sooner... although it looks like everyone's out for the night, haha.

Hey all,

Very new to this but I was able to root with ABD a few minutes ago, installed Backup Pro, and backed everything up to the SD card.

So, I'm about to install cwm recovery all via Odin and wipe the cache, data, and davlik, right? Then use Odin to flash on a ROM from the Full EB01/EB16 Froyo leak page?

1) When I use cwm to wipe data etc. will my backups will be safe? I mean, that's the point, right?

2) Am I'm attempting to do things in the correct order?

3) After flashing SC 2.9, how do I go about restoring all my data? Will all my apps etc. (including Backup Pro) be there waiting for me?

Sorry to ask all this here but cwm/wiping is next on my list and I didn't want to start asking questions in too many threads.

Thanks in advance!

Any chance for a quick flash with 2.9.1? I mean using ODIN, not 2.9 flash then this CWM stuff....just a quick simple flash is what I'm all about. I'm hoping the ".1" patch fixes the glitches in 2.9 cause it was horrendous on my phone vs 2.5 (what I'm currently using).

1. Everything on your SD card will be safe.

2. Can't say that you're doing it in the right order or not because I'm not familiar with CWM all. If you have update.zip on your SD card and you flash one of the Odin files listed in the OP, you'll be able to get into recovery, RED, without an issue. The recovery mode, whether with CWM blue, red or orange, is not needed to work with Odin. These help you patch the roms, install themes, modems, etc., and without the need of using Odin. Just make sure that you choose the correct version of the Odin package and the one without the little x after the version number.

Also note that you don't need root to do anything here, though you get root as a byproduct of all of these packages. If you rooted your stock rom, it's because you needed it for something else, including Titanium. Titanium will save the backups to the sd card. When you recover, just batch restore your apps and data. I personally don't like the thought of installing system data from stock rom to these hacked froyo roms. Also make sure that you backup your contacts before you use odin. The backup can be found in settings > accounts and sync > backup assistant.

3. go to the market and download titanium again. After you install it, you'll be able to restore your backup. Also, consider paying for this app, as it will save you a ton of time in restoring. When using Titanium free to restore your apps, you'll restore them one at a time, manually. If you get the paid version of the app, you tap on the batch restore and set the phone down and it does the rest until its done. Trust me, do this just one time, for free, and you'll want to have the paid version for the 2nd through all the other times you modify your phone.

Folks, I'm in and out tonight, and though I see that others are out for the night, I'll try to check in here and there. I'm trying to work on creating an application for my phone by using Eclipse and the Android SDK, so if someone wants to make it for me and give me the source, I'll buy them the key for Titanium pro. Hell, I'll buy two keys and give the other to a random stranger.

The patch is very quick and simple. But please go here and read about using CWM, as it will only help you in the future.
