[Odin] Froyo leaked packaged custom ROMs w/root and clockwork **UPDATED**3/25

i would have them not delete update.zip and still use cwm all,,,incase a mistake is made and they flash a kernel that removes cwm all then they have update.zip to fall back on in a pinch

OK, sounds good to me. Would you prefer they follow your instructions for the ODIN packages, then go back and flash cwm-all or flash cwm-all at a particular point in your instructions?

it says samsung and wont start up after i finished

Yes, I understand that. How long has it been stuck at the samsung logo? And which file did you use? We need this information to figure out what is going on.

Alright I have done the whole guide and I guess I'm now rooted and have everything else it came with. So far I have a couple things I need help with. It seems like the home key and the bottom left key (don't know what its called) do not work and will not vibrate when touched. I'm currently using LauncherPro and the widgets say "problem loading widget" (facebook, pandora, weatherbug, etc.)
On a side not I know I need to back up everything. I'm assuming google backs up my contacts. I don't know about my messaging. I'm trying to use Titanium backup right now but do I really have to update each app manually? Other than that the phone seems fine.

Edit - I just changed my keyboard settings to Android keyboard and it fixed my key problems. Now they vibrate and work. Odd...
Edit 2 - It seems the widget problem can be solved by removing them and putting them back on. =)
Edit 3 - I downloaded flash player for froyo but it seems that netflix streaming still doesn't work.

If you are going to recovery and you go to red directly, you do not need to hit apply sdcard:update.zip. When you boot directly to red cwm-all just forget update.zip even exists. Follow DroidXcon's directions in this thread http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...-clockworkmod-recovery-w-screen-captures.html
When you boot to red it is as simple as using the volume buttons to scroll to install zip from sd card, hit the power button, scroll to choose zip from sd card, power button, scroll to the 2_9_1 zip, power button. After install hit the menu soft key or the search soft key to go back one menu page until you are at the cwm-all main page where reboot system now will be highlighted, power buttton and wait for the phone to reboot
I go to recovery from the power menu and it comes up blue. I go to apply sd card update , hit the home button to select and it says finding update package, opening update package, verifying update package, failed to open sd card update (no such file or directory)

ok you have two options,

either use clockwork and flash another voodoo kernel and make sure lagfix is enabled

or

flash the EB01 fix all with odin

I found that the oddest thing fixed the internal storage issue...I mentioned I had done a complete wipe(I had formated my sd also)...what I didnt realize was that the recovery was gone as well. This dawned on me when I rebooted into recovery and the it just formated data and data cache and rebooted to a wiped phone. Anyway long story short I odin flashed the cwm all recovery rebooted, logged into google and the apps started restoring no issue...the only issue after the restore was that the device was in safe mode. After app restoration another reboot sorted it.

ok. i have been Adrynaline's thread for 2 hours trying o get the 2.9.1 patch working. I have downloaded the 2.9.1 zip and it's on my sd card, but when i go to recovery apply sd update it fails every time. I flashed the last 2.9 from this thread last night and am having random reeboots and my contacts won't use the back button. Any suggestion ?

Your recovery should be red, you'll go to install from sd card not update.zip.

Download this cwm-all file MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service to your computer. Power off the phone. Pull the battery out. Open ODIN. Hold down the volume button on your phone. Connect your phone to your computer with the usb cable. Hold the volume down button until you see the yellow triangle on your phone AND the yellow rectangle in ODIN. Hit the PDA button. Select the above cwm-all file to populate the PDA field. Hit START. This will take 7 seconds and you will get the green PASS! message on ODIN. Close ODIN. Put battery back in phone. Power on phone. Ta da! Now when you boot to recovery, you will go directly to red cwm-all not blue. DO NOT use apply sdcard:update.zip in red cwm. Follow the instructions in this thread http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...-clockworkmod-recovery-w-screen-captures.html on how to use red cwm-all.

Thanks for all the info and help from everyone !!!!! Hopefully one day I can give someone some advice lol

gallaxy tab froyo upgrade

First, I am sorry to ask a question on here.
I have a fascinate and I upgrade froyo using the file and instruction, and thanks for the contribution.
I have a gallaxy tab, and I want to upgrade to froyo, but thesre is one problem. I can't remove the battery from Gallxy tab that request to upgrade to froyo according to the instruction.
Is there any way to do this update!!

Thanks for in advance.

Ummm. When did you get the galaxy tab? Did the original ones come with Eclair? Because the one listed on Verizon's web site says it is running Froyo. I didn't pay enough attention when they were first released to know if they came with Eclair at first.

by no means should you flash any of this onto your galaxy tab, unless we can confirm that the partitions are the same as the fascinate. and that the kernels will work.
