[Odin] Froyo leaked packaged custom ROMs w/root and clockwork **UPDATED**3/25

Sorry for the newbie question but I have searched all over the internet and can't find a solution. I am running superclean 2.9.2 novoodo and i am tring to load 50mv or 100mv UV nonvoodo kernel and when i reboot i'm stuck on the samsung logo then it reboots. It continued to do this for 30 minutes before i pulled the battery and loaded the superclean 2.9.2 odin files then i loaded jt's CWM all. The phone is now operational but i can not load any kernels through CWM. Is it possible these UV kernels are not compatible with superclaen or am doing something wrong?

Some people just have problems with them. I havent tried them for fear of that reason. you r not the first person to have this happen. Ive been rocking comavolt's kernel. I am on a mission to get great battery life. but am failing, hopefully soon we will have stable undervolted non voodoo kernels!

I have soft bricked mine and I went through and followed all the steps and even extracted the update.zip to sd/. In Odin it gets a 1/4 of the way (factoryfs.rfs) then fails out. Any suggestions.

this may seem like a dumb question but my phone has build EA28, would it still work when using either EB01DB_DXC.tar or EB16SC29_DXC.tar???

Yes it will still work. Both are safe to use and your build and baseband numbers will change to EB01 after using either one.

You don't extract the update.zip to the sd card, you just install it there. You extract the .rar file so you get the .tar file you flash through ODIN. Make sure of the following:

1. Battery is out the whole time while flashing in ODIN
2. Use USB port in back of the computer closest to the motherboard
3. Very important - TURN OFF ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE
4. Make sure you have downloaded the correct samsung drivers

I have a question i flashed a aosp froyo rom and a voodo kernel and enabled the lag fix and now i want to go back to superclean can i just do it the same way i have all ways installed superclean with odin or is there something special i have to do because of the voodo kernel

you must disable lagfix, reboot, then shut down and flash

First time poster, and pretty new. Have rooted and flashed superclean 2.9.2 via Odin and am trying to apply various themes, specifically Nitro Ultimate Honeycomb (which is said to be compatible with SC2.9.2). Each time i apply the theme via CWM red, it loads successfully and just about everything seems to work, except i can't get any cell signal. When i go to try and check the Mobile Network, it just force closes. Had the same issue when trying to flash BlueSteel as well. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey DroidXcon & Landshark, you guys are amazing. Big thanks to both of you for everything you guys have done and all of your work helping everyone out. Got my phone from stock 2.1 to SC 2.9.2nv this morning with no troubles at all (Just had to search the forum for a few answers when I got stuck). The instructions and answers you give out are spot on making this much easier than I expected. Again thanks for all your hard work on this!

Dial *228 from the dialer and choose option 1 to program phone. Phone will reboot. Dial *228 again and choose option 2 to update your roaming capabilities, phone will reboot again. See if your cell signal is better.

If that doesn't work, then go menu=>settings=>wireless & networking and turn on airplane mode for about 10 seconds, then turn it off and see if your cell signal improves.

If those don't work you could reflash the ROM, but might be easier to reflash just the modem in ODIN

Thanks and welcome to Android Central. Glad you were able to get everything working and hopefully all your answers weren't too difficult to find.

Can't thank you enough for the reply and help. However neither seemed to work. I tried the *228 to reprogram and every time i made the call, it force closed (android.process.acore has stopped). Couldn't turn on airplane mode, would just say trying to turn off, but never would. I also reflashed both the ROM (sc2.9.2) and the modem you provided and no dice. However, when i went to about phone, i noticed that my Baseband version is saying Unknown for some reason. I've been running sc2.9.2 with eb01 with no problem, so not sure why the baseband version would say unknown just from adding a theme. Thanks again, you guys are great here.

Did you use DroidXcon's 2.9.2 package first coming straight from Eclair? If so that is the problem. You have to use the 2.9 package first (EB16SC29_DXC.tar) first, then flash the 2.9.2 package. You have to wipe data when going from Eclair to Froyo.

That's why he has this big warning above the 2.9.2 package:
WARNING: NO DATA WIPE MAY CAUSE FC IF COMING FROM ECLAIR, FULL WIPE IS RECOMMENDED
Super Clean version 2.9.2 - EB01/EC10 Froyo leak root+Froyo Clockworkmod with MALWARE protection THIS VERSION DOES NOT WIPE DATA

I bet that's what it was. I must have overlooked that, because i know originally i did perform a full wipe when moving from eclair to froyo, but i didn't think about doing it again when i went to 2.9.2.

So for clarification, i should backup, perform full hard reset, reflash EB16SC29 via Odin, and then flash 2.9.2 via CWM red, and then apply the theme via CWM red as well?

Sorry for all the questions, i'm pretty new to this and have been searching through threads for days cuz i didn't wanna bother you guys with stupid questions.

You don't have to do the full hard reset. DroidXcon's 2.9 package does it for you.

Wait, what steps did you take to go from Eclair to Froyo? If you did a full wipe you shouldn't have these problems. Can you lay out all the steps you took when going from Eclair to Froyo? Following the steps above should set you straight anyway, but I'm curious to see what steps you took previously to figure out where the problems came from.

Whats up all,

First off just want to say thanks to everyone for getting all this info out there, awesome stuff. I installed Super Clean version 2.9 - EB01/EB16 Froyo leak root+Froyo Clockworkmodwith MALWARE protection with no problems since I was coming from Eclair. My question is about the Firmware Version, should it read 2.2.1 or 2.9? Also, should I also do SUPER CLEAN 2.9.2? Whats the difference? I quite lost when it comes to computers and software things. What is a kernel, and what do the do? Any help/info appreciated.....

Welcome to Android Central. First your firmware version is reading correct. 2.9 is just the version of Superclean which is a Froyo ROM, and this Froyo is firmware 2.2.1. You should do superclean 2.9.2 as there were a few bugs with 2.9 that 2.9.2 addressed and cleaned up. A kernel is the basic building block of the ROM. For a great place to learn more about rooting, flashing, and what the heck everyone here is talking about, check out Sheepdog Elite's great thread here:

Thanks, will read. One question I forgot to ask was about step one on DroidXcons post:

To install Odin packages on your device
1. First you will need to download and place on your sd card update.zip

I did this. But what does that do? Should that be put there as a zip file, or unzipped?

Placed there as a zip file, but now that we pretty much have a working cwm-all, you shouldn't ever have to bother with it. Flash this file HERE in ODIN, then follow the directions in this thread HERE whenever you want to flash anything through clockworkmod recovery (cmm.)

Thanks for the guide I successfully updated to froyo! Are the kernels for overclock and stupidfast out for the fascinate 2.2?
