Ok, i have a serious problem now. The phone keeps rebooting. I get a message Sorry! Use *#9900# to take log. The process com.google.process.gaps (may this last one isn't the word) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. I am seriously panicking.

I am not new to rooting but am new to rooting the fascinate. To flash these odin files do I have to be rooted first or can I do this straight from stock?

you can do this from stock as long as you dont use the non wipe package which is 2.9.2

Running Debloated/Deodexed. Also using PhoneWeaver profile app.

I normally set the Night profile to turn off the Phone. I notice that usually at night my clock runs slow. If I set an alarm, it will be late. So I try to set the profile to turn on the phone early. But what is really happening there?

I guess I need to better understand what happens if I check or uncheck the box in Settings/Date & Time/Automatic (Use network-provided values).

Or exactly which part of the phone (phone, data, etc.) is keeping the time up to date.

I just want the bare minumum amount of power drain overnight to keep the clock accurate and allow dependable alarms. And shut off the rest.

Any suggestions?

Edit: Wow. After posting, I tried turning off "network provided values" and 2 hours later, my phone was 45 minutes behind.

However, I've successfully reflashed 2.9.2, restored my contact data, etc., pulled tibu off the market and about ready to run "restore missing apps with data." However, all the app names have a white line through them. I have a sinking feeling that this is what I did the first time and that this is going to cause my same problems up above. Thoughts, anyone?
