ED01 Modem Questions

Hey guys,

First let me say thanks for the many hours of hard work everyone here puts in on these forums. It is much appreciated!!
I have updated my phone following information on the threads here to the new ED01 Modem and then flashed the community rom over it and converted to Voodoo. Everything works great, but I am finding that the Launcher is not exactly what I was looking for, so I was thinking of going to one of these DB /DO versions that leave the Touchwiz launcher in place. (Mainly I cant stand the Home screen changing orientation drives me crazy and apparently you can't turn that off in the community rom)
Anyway, my question is if I flash the version that does not purge data will it over write my ED01 Modem with EC01?

Yes, both of the packages will replace your modem with the EC01 modem. If you are looking to get a different launcher you can take a look at Launcher Pro, ADW, or Go Launcher in the market. I know LP has a setting in it to stop the screen rotation. If you want touch wiz, you can try the touchwiz launcher patch Adrynalyne has in the patches section of the OP of his superclean thread:

It is for the EB01 build but may work on ED01. Just place on your sd card and flash in CWM

slower and dead battery...

yesterday i installed on my phone... but battery life sucks and it was way toooo slower than 2.9.2. i know lots of u guys work for hours and hours for make this pkg...
anyways i downgrade to 2.9.2 again...
its lo faster and easier to use.
I there any ed1 with this kinda 2.9.2 like pkg?

Thank you very much for the easy to understand instructions!
After having my fascinate for a few weeks i rooted, flashed a custom rom and voodoo kernel. My phone was literally perfect except for a hardware issue, due to which verizon is replacing my fascinate for a new one. Following the instructions in this thread i restored my fascinate to stock so I am able to send it in!

Just wanted to share my experience with this Odin package. I came from a EB01 stock rom that DroidXcon put together in an Odin package. It had a few quirks here and there but altogether not to bad.

I installed this (non-wipe) shortly after it was released. Followed the instructions and it went smooth as silk. I also installed the "Black Alien" theme port from gunnermike because I like the way it looked. No problems with any of the installs. I'm happy with how my phone runs and looks now!

Thanks to everyone who puts all their time and effort into making owning the fascinate a better experience!

Edit: Wanted to add a few things I forgot to post about ED01 Odin package. It gets rid of all Verizon crud except for 3g hotspot and myVerizon app. The non-wipe version also left all of my apps and data alone.

Yes. It is what most people seem to be running. You can consider it the replacement for superclean.
